What was said, compared to what I wanted to say

Roy December 9th, 2009

What was said:

I’m sorry I’ll round the fare down to €5, I thought it best to avoid the traffic on Camden Street.

What I wanted to say:
Regardless of what way we went it was only around the corner, if you were that worried about the fare you should have walked!

Actual Fare was €5.45 = €4.45 starting fare + €1 for the extra passenger, meter never even got to trip over !

There is a lot of tongue holding required in the Taxi business, patience is probably the ultimate requirement

Sod them, just go up/down Camden Street.

Its not our fault that the Enforcement officers or an Garda Sioachana do absolutely nothing about the taxi’s illegal plying for hire along both sides of this street.

Was on Harcourt Street tonight. Absolute bedlam. There was a Fire Brigade & an Ambulance outside Coppers. but while I was stopped in traffic I noticed on the ground outside Coppers the word “TAXI”. Obviously we’ll be getting an official rank very soon.

Wonder will there be an opening ceremony.

Also wonder how is it gonna work with the amout of taxis that use the road.

Most Customers Starting to Look For DISCOUNTS!+ Bus Lane Contra-Flow.Stephens Green> They must think that all TAXIS are doing the Same ./ Not Just 2-3 Radio Firms.at Discounts, there is too Many TAXIS in Dublin . My Turnover Has fallen + Radio Work went down a lot. Miss K. Doyle Taxi REG? Office is’nt working & dont care. enforcement officers cant police that amount of TAXIS 15.000? Dublin. Just look at the Traffic Conjestion at Night Time, its not normal. How do Emergency Vehicles Ambulance, Fire Tenders, Gardai etc. get to Calls With Roads Congested./ The TAXI Trade is in a MESS Right Now? Im Doubtful if it will Recover.

@EJ. Congratulations on your retirement. I hope you found something more productive, financially or otherwise. The taxi trade is indeed in a mess, reflective of the economy in general.
