Another NTA fudge on the Age requirements.

Roy November 21st, 2012

According to their latest missive, the nine year rule proposed in the review becomes a ten year rule, and the fourteen year rule, becomes a fifteen year rule.
This, combined with changing the emphasis from when the vehicle entered the fleet, to when the licence was purchased, has done away with the nine year rule, (now ten) (nobody bought a licence from the CTR post 2009, as they were available far cheaper on the open market) thus the entire fleet will be subject to a fifteen year rule, making the age rule absolutely worthless.
They really are taking the piss out of the junior minister.
It would remind you of the popular tv show of the 80s “Yes Minister”, these civil servants are playing him for a fool.

    i notice that a certain radio company owner has not been on here for some time now,maybe the vat man caught up with him,or worse still maybe the threat from hailo is making him feel sick . in any event i hope it will soon be one less scum bag radio company who still believes you work for him instead of the other way round

    Looks in every day, doesn’t post any longer, either got sense or got orders from above, this site is for drivers, others comment at their own risk

    @bohemian boy
    I agree with your comments but sadly, it appears HailO are starting to treat drivers like the typical radio companies. No €2 call out fee and now no €5 cancellation fee except in the case where you have waited 5 mins outside and contacted the passenger too. And yet…HailO continue to call themselves a “full fare” company?

    fred i have being saying this for weeks now . hailo will prove themselves to be no better then the radio companies who think the drivers work for them . how long before uniforms , 20% discounts , ALREADY as you said no call out charge, no waiting time etc etc , and STILL drivers cannot see that we dont need these scumbag radios,or apps . surely if there were no radio companies , or apps , punters would only have to come out to the street for a cab yet drivers would rather prostitute themselves , then have their principles
