Rep Bodies want to Protect the guilty.

Roy February 21st, 2013

As agreed by all Representative groups Protest Action will take place Thursday 28th February from 7 am to 2 pm.

This is due to the introduction of Penalty Points and the failure of the Minister to engage with Taxi Drivers and Rep Bodies.

This is the first in a series of planned protests. Thank you TTnH.

We have a free for all Dog eat Dog scenario on the strrets of our towns and Cities, the only solution is Enforcement, the Rep Bodies plan to protest against Enforcement.

The Rep bodies are idiots.

    ruff out their tonight

The proposed penalty points system is not enforcement. It is persecution. Real enforcement involves recruiting human beings (50 of same) and putting them on the streets with KPI targets eg 5000 random vehicle inspections per month minimum. The NTA do not have a clue and the minister dosent give a damn! TTNH are in favour of enforcement, proper pro active intelligent well resourced enforcement! Instead of moaning from the comfort of sitting on your arse, get involved!!! Protests might work this time as FG/LABOUR are in real trouble re opinion polls etc. in my opinion, the minimum fine for an offence should be €250. Things like not having driver id properly displayed would incur a fine of €1000 etc. finally, other rep bodies are finally starting to do something BECAUSE TTNH, THUS FAR, ARE THE ONLY ONES HELPING DRIVERS…FACT!

  3. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 6:45 am

totally agree with Fred, hire more staff and lets have proper enforcement. its only way to get illegals off the road. this new penalty point system is a sick joke, kelly the nta are all muppets. drivers that dont display proper id, usually dont have any. time to start seizing cars big time. just take them and crush them.

  4. geron 22 Feb 2013 at 6:54 am

Crush them with the fithbags still in them.

  5. flybyniteon 22 Feb 2013 at 9:43 am

Beating the same old drum: Not enough enforcement. Penalty points will hit those who are legit but make a mistake hardest. The …..bags seem to have a grapevine. And that is the saddest thing of all.
Legit drivers have been talking about solidarity for donkeys years but nothing has happened. The illegals – certain ethnic groups at least – seem to have a system that enables them to slip through the net and keep them invisible, maybe not physically (on the road) but for the law. We are still struggling with unity and cannot even organise one effective protest. If we do try the scabs are doing great business at our expense and all we get is a bad reputation.

  6. Royon 22 Feb 2013 at 1:01 pm

Penalty points have proved to be the most effective enforcement tool. The reps asked for better enforcement they’re getting it and now they’re protesting because they’re getting it, they are fools!

  7. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 3:24 pm

and thats why the taxi business is a total mess

  8. geron 22 Feb 2013 at 3:54 pm

If you get 8points, ur off the road for 3 months. the real fun starts when you try to get back on the road. i know of a driver who got 12 points and was banned for 6months. the insurance company wanted 8 thousand euro when he went to go back on the road. ouch. dont do anything wrong and you wont get any points. its not rocket sicence. with a bit of luck if will put a good lot of drivers off the road who never play by the rules. Bring it on.

  9. bohemian boyon 22 Feb 2013 at 4:47 pm

not many things i agree with roy on but i do on this.when i look at the amount.. of taxis stealing work from the official ranks it makes me sick, bottom of grafton st,dandaloin, dawson st,londis shop beside the fosters, etc, etc,i just cannot understand why the reps want to protect these towrags. can anyone explain why i,or any other driver who plays by the rules should support such a protest ?

  10. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 4:57 pm

if only we had enforcement, the system might work

  11. Vat manon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:12 pm

Let’s hope the NTA start dishing out points soon

  12. Vat manon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:16 pm

Serves them right, all the taxi drivers out there that seem to have no receipts roll in there printers any time I asked for a receipt, same excuse I just ran out of them an hour ago. Spoofers the whole lot of them

  13. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:17 pm

what does a retired big pension civil servant care about penalty points

  14. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:24 pm

bat man did you have a hissy fit and throw all your toys out of the taxi

  15. Vat manon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:41 pm

No I told each & every taxi driver the next time I take a taxi and there is receipt roll in your printing machine I will report the matter to the NTA

  16. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:45 pm

you are a crank, get a life

  17. Vat manon 22 Feb 2013 at 5:48 pm

I would believe Alan Kelly there is a lot of fraudsters & scammers in the taxi industry, however I do accept there is a lot honourable gentlemen in the industry to

  18. Benon 22 Feb 2013 at 6:07 pm

Alan Kelly knows sweet fook all about the taxi industry, and neither does he care. its all bluff.

  19. flybyniteon 22 Feb 2013 at 9:01 pm

For a change I cannot disagree with fat man. In a coach fitted with a digital tacho the driver must carry THREE printer rolls with him. This in the event of a road check so inspectors can pull a print-out of the work, hours etc.
In my taxi I ALWAYS carry spare rolls.
We are obliged by law to provide a printed receipt. I regard a driver who does not give one when asked as a towrag. Because chances are he is hiding something.
But I am glad to say there are gentlemen in the industry. When – in the now rare event – I come home after a few drinks I use a taxi. And fair play, I meet very decent guys.
But I also had one who, in Dame Street, did not know where Rialto is.
In such a case I tell him he’d better sit his test again and get out.

  20. sidewinderon 23 Feb 2013 at 3:36 am

im curious!a vehiale is worth 125€a year why wud u pay €200 aweek gor something thats worth €125 a year brske it down 125 divide by 52 its 3€ aday.my opipion if u dont own a licence and car u dont drive itget off road.

  21. sidewinderon 23 Feb 2013 at 3:49 am

bottom line the rental market is the problem, you have heard the debate!1qoestion we rrnew our licences @125 a year !!!why do bogies rent them for a 150 a week,?????

  22. Mikeon 23 Feb 2013 at 5:37 am

@Ger. these aren’t driving penalty points should have no effect on insurance

  23. geron 23 Feb 2013 at 5:48 am

Mike. im not sure. the insurance companies will see this as a cashcow. time will tell. Its still a driving ban. and they will milk that for all its worth.

  24. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 7:22 am

i have said it many times before, ban the rental market completely. that would eliminate most of the rot.

  25. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 9:01 am

there could be a legal issue with these taxi driver penalty points. i expect there will be a legal challenge eventually.

  26. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 9:39 am

No legal challenge eventually, however you can contest your penalty points in the courts which will double on conviction. Rental operators not going anywhere

  27. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 9:46 am

wont stand up you are talking shit as usual. you are not a taxi driver.

  28. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 10:35 am

How many taxi drivers & unions make statements that they are going to take legal a challenge but the they are only blowing off hot air there legal challenges never seem to get off the ground

  29. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 10:38 am

The points are here to stay be compliant & you have nothing to worry about. Legal Challenge Hahahahahahaha

  30. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 10:39 am

some individual can take a challenge, dont need these reps. they all assholes as well. kellys point system is flawed, and time will prove that.

  31. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 10:45 am

I’d doubt any taxi driver would put his money were his mouth is, but i forgot business is bad. I don’t think the banks are doing loans for legal challenges & any taxi driver or company with money does not give a monkeys

  32. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 11:05 am

if some drivers living was at stake, you never know. most of the crap that came from cta, trd, nta and any other assholes over the last few years is just that. CRAP. they are stupid civil servants, like yourself, and probably retired on big fat pensions now, just like you. or maybe they are taxi drivers, just like you very soon, i expect. you will then be a fully qualified SCAB, like many others. lots of retired cops and civil servants that i know are driving taxis, while drawing big state pensions. thats our income tax they are getting. and they are whinging that things are quiet, god help them.

  33. bohemian boyon 23 Feb 2013 at 11:33 am

ben surely you mean ctr in your last post and not cta [capital taxi assocation] ?

  34. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 11:49 am

sorry yes that should have been CTR, thanks boh

  35. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 11:50 am

    Commission for Taxi Ruination

  36. bohemian boyon 23 Feb 2013 at 12:09 pm

the contraversary around the penalty points, and other issues, come down to one very simple question.do we want to work in a fully legal, fully compliant, fully professional taxi industry or not ? if the answer is no then you should support the protest. if the answer is yes then you cannot in all conceince support this action.i will not work between these hours out of respect for the rep bodies position, and their obvious to do what they believe is the right thing to do,but i DO NOT support any action where they seek to protect drivers who are blatently stealing work from official ranks.surely if their argument is there is not enough rank spaces and this is why drivers do it , then THAT is where they should concentrate their efforts trying to secure MORE ranks, instead of trying to block the implementation this long awaited process that can only be good for full time taxi driers.i believe alan kelly is sincere in his efforts to sort it out,why cant we wait and see?

  37. bohemian boyon 23 Feb 2013 at 12:13 pm

thanks for the clarification ben im glad it wasnt cta

  38. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 12:47 pm

boh yes i want to work in a taxi industry that is legal and fully compliant, but i wonder if we will ever see that day.

  39. bohemian boyon 23 Feb 2013 at 1:16 pm

i believe we will if we all support the objectives of the bill in its present form. there are some who for instence, will say the decals will have no effect on double jobbers.i disagree, i believe that the effect will not become apperent until everyone has done their sgs test.dont forget in order to pass the sgs you must have your decals fitted.as each day of the year approaches, there will be drivers who are up for this test.when their day comes, they will have to make their decision.do i fit the decals ? or do i get out of the game ? as there are still 85% of cars to be fitted with decals, its a reasonable conclusion to draw that a lot of them are double jobbers, and WILL NOT present their cars for the test.there will only be an accurate assesment when exactly one year has passed, and we see how many are left. regarding the illegals, in order to get the decals in the first place,it has to be confirmed by the nta, to the printer, that you are indeed a legal operator. another thing i would support is the principle of one man one job, one man one plate, one man one area. i would love to see the reps pushing for this

  40. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 1:26 pm

one man one plate sounds good to me, hope we see that some day soon. this will wipe out a lot of illegal activity. you make a good point about the decals, yes a year will tell a lot. its good news that illegals cant just go to a printer, and have them fitted. hope the forgers dont start.

  41. bohemian boyon 23 Feb 2013 at 2:14 pm

ben i admire the rep bodies for excercising their democratic right to protest, i just cannot subscribe to an agenda which includes protecting drivers from penalty points who blatently steal the work of drivers who go to the trouble of queuing up on an offical rank. example fosters rank, robbers outside londis shop have now moved down right beside the official rank, bottom of grafton st, dandalion, dawson st,

  42. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 2:39 pm

i agree with that point about the ranks boh. you will probably find that most of these thieves are scabs or illegal foreign towrags.

  43. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 2:55 pm

Taxi unions are never any good at protests as for taxi drivers strike 2 hours on a Monday afternoon that has to be the biggest joke of all Hahahahahahaha & only a handful of taxi drivers on the strike. As for income tax that taxi drivers pay maybe a little PRSI but not much if any PAYE. Civil servants worked hard for the pensions and they deserve every cent. The taxi drivers brought a lot of the rules on themselves if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen

  44. bohemian boyon 23 Feb 2013 at 3:33 pm

well it seems YOU cant stand the heat, yet for some mysterious reason you want to come IN to the kitchen

  45. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 3:46 pm

bat man talking pure scutter again. what a sad fool, thinks he earned his pension doing sweet fook all for a few years. pensions for you muppets are being cut, how can you justify taking 30.000 a year of our money. you total fooking parasite. and yes our tax is down, because our income is way down, due to scabs like you. wake up you fool.

  46. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 5:13 pm

My pension is €36,000 net and well earned. Very few taxi drivers ever paid PAYE

  47. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 5:15 pm

And I will be driving a taxi by the end of March

  48. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 5:26 pm

u dont deserve one cent of it

  49. geron 23 Feb 2013 at 6:11 pm

Vat man. you will need every cent of your pension. no money in taxi game. if i had 36 grand a year, i would’nt drive a taxi. thats just greedy!. Im sure you will lets ur buddies in the tax office know that you expect to be making 1400 a week driving a taxi, so you can pay the correct rate of tax on your 2 incomes?

  50. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 6:22 pm

Ger I pay tax on my property investments & I’m looking at another 2 bed apt at present €45,000 good value bank sale, and any money I make working part time in the taxi industry I will pay tax on that. If I clear €400 to €450, I will be happy enough with that. If there was no money in the taxi game Ger you wouldn’t be working

  51. C5on 23 Feb 2013 at 7:43 pm

Well vat man if and thats a big IF, if you want to clear 400 to 450 euro and thats before fuel, you will be on the road min 40 hours, most times its 45 or 50,i work 80 hours a week just to keep ahead of the bills, nearly two years ago i did 102 hours it was a really bad slow week i was under pressure to make my morgage payment plus trying to compeat with the likes of you.like i said before your going to get a shock IF you start in this game, but i think your a bored TROLL.who would put up with this hassle with a 36,000 net penson and property investments and then have another 45 grand to buy more.get a life MR. VAT-TROLL MAN.

  52. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 8:03 pm

bat man a lot of drivers like myself, nearly 60, and lads much older, would get out of taxi biz if we could get a job. but at our age, who would employ us. if there was less taxis, and less scabs with big pensions driving taxis part time, we might be able to make a living. also if all the illegal africans were put off the road, things would really improve. you will be just another scab when you start in the business.

  53. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 8:10 pm

you praise alan kelly a lot here, you even sound like him. but if he was serious about cleaning up the taxi biz, he would ban the likes of you from getting a psv licence. you are a greedy fooker.

  54. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 9:58 pm

Your entitled to your opinion I hope to driving for St Patricks week. I do believe I will make €400 to €500 without to much pressure and I have the pension to fall back on. It’s rude to begrudge me my entitlement to work In the industry but I don’t really care what any taxi drivers think I will be on the ranks very soon. You could write to Alan & ask him to revoke all former civil servants PSV’S , however Ben I’m not sure your letter would change anything

  55. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 10:11 pm

Remember the boom years when the taxi drivers were creaming in €€€ and all the civil servants were on the same salaries working hard. Well Ben the taxi drivers should have invested there €€€ for that rainy day as I did.The taxi drivers thought that bubble would never burst. There’s an old saying as you probably know well always expect the unexpected. But cheer up chuck look on the bright side of life, at least you have your health

  56. Benon 23 Feb 2013 at 10:31 pm

will write to your good friend Alan, and ask him to treat all big state pension holders the same as part time scabs and criminals. and that means no psv licence. the full time Irish drivers have to be protected, and standards maintained in the business. and speaking of saving the few bob, well i did just that. pension fund was wiped out, but bricks and mortar are still ok.

  57. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 11:22 pm

I can’t really ask the Minister for anything I’m very happy with the Fine Gael & Labour I received my gratis & full pension I have done well. The best Government we have had in years Fine Gael are head again in the polls

  58. Vat manon 23 Feb 2013 at 11:25 pm

I can’t access my private pension for another 5 years but it’s not doing to bad thank god, however I will just work in the taxi industry until then

  59. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 7:14 am

u call then the best Gov because they gave you a big golden handshake that we could not afford, and a big fat persion for life. howlin is a total asshole. then some of you jerks were rehired on full pay. this Gov will be a one term only, and not even a full term. they have people taxed to the point where they are cold and hungry. noonan does not look like he is hungry. he was always a towrag, dont expect any change. and you need to check the polls again, labour are facing wipe-out. gilmore is a total clown, but he was able to score a good job for his wife. all corrupt tossers.

  60. geron 24 Feb 2013 at 7:16 am

Molly malone would turn in her grave if she saw what her fair city has turned into. a fooking cesspit thats crawling with fooking vermin.

  61. geron 24 Feb 2013 at 7:22 am

Ben. they should be all hung by their big fat necks from the gates of leinster house. if this was a south american country, that would have happend long ago. a shower of self serving gobshites. rot in hell the whole fooking lot of them.

  62. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 8:09 am

totally agree with you Ger, i hate the fokers and what they have done to our country. but they have looked after themselves very well, and their cronies.

  63. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 8:16 am

cannot understand why people dont rebel against whats going on we are being crucified with taxes its property tax this year, water charges next year, whats coming after that. all these asshole politicians on 200,000 a year making fools of us. and we tolerate it. and this is to pay bondholders and debts that wreckless bankers are responsible for. and to keep thousands of foreign vermin in a life of luxury here, lets not forget that. o ya mon

  64. bohemian boyon 24 Feb 2013 at 11:17 am

ben i dont think the revolution you speak of is to far away, but whats even more astonishing is the fact that the most corrupt political party in the country is now leading the poll.how on earth can irish people have such short memories. this the party that stood by while that bastard dempesy single handedly destroyed the lilihoods of full time taxi drivers by doing absolutely nothing to stop criminality in the industry.a parlimentary question was asked of him by angus o [cant spell the rest, but you know who i mean] the question was to ask the minister to dispense with the currently used pulse system for vetting purposes, and to employ the psa system instead which is a much more detailed check into somebodys background dempesy rejected this suggestion out of hand. instead opting to continue with the present pulse system.this probably accounts for the reason we have all these dodgy foreigners driving taxis

  65. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 12:38 pm

i agree boh, dempsey ruined our industry, he was a total muppet. he is another tosser who sailed off into the meath sunset with a huge pension, and lump sum. the current system of vetting is not working, hence all the foreign criminals arriving here as they know we are a soft touch.

  66. bohemian boyon 24 Feb 2013 at 1:20 pm

does anyone know is the protest going ahead on thursday or not ?

  67. Vat manon 24 Feb 2013 at 3:43 pm

Revolution my arse, it’s the same half a dozen moaning cry babies all the time. I’m sure the Government care less what you lot think, I welcome the property tax & council charges they have to be paid & that is that

  68. Vat manon 24 Feb 2013 at 3:44 pm

Protest that’s a joke even the reps are not supporting it Hahahahahahaha

  69. Vat manon 24 Feb 2013 at 3:50 pm

I’d say there is a lot more Irish criminals out there Ben don’t be passing the book on to the poor foreigners, all the plates that are been still rented out there at €50 per week still it just shows they are not being compliant, there say is coming and when they are caught its not a fixed charge or penalty points. It’s the District Courts for them

  70. bohemian boyon 24 Feb 2013 at 3:50 pm

its an absolute disgrace.over on the forum there is loads of the scabs saying they will work on thursday.i do not support the objectives of this particular protest, but i will NEVER work while my colleagues are engaged in protest action.i would starve before i would break any strike,or pass any picket.shame on you who preach unity on this forum, and then do this on your colleagues

  71. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 4:31 pm

bat man you are in for a major shock if you get a psv licence, you will see for yourself just whats going on out there. and you will find out just how many illegal africans are driving taxis. regarding taxes, we dont all have the high disposable income that you have, or a big fat pension. property taxes and charges dont have to be paid, we can tell those tax assholes where to go.

  72. Vat manon 24 Feb 2013 at 4:34 pm

By the looks for some taxi drivers take could do with starving themselves for a day or so. They are very chubby looking, obese in some cases I’d say. And I think there will be a lot of full timers who will work during the protest, the previous strikes & protest did not get you anywhere I’d doubt this one will either. What are you lot protesting for anyway? You lot wanted the industry cleaned up & you got its called Taxi Regulation Bill 2012. I think you lot should be grateful

  73. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 4:40 pm

we got nothing yet, business still infested with illegal africans. but you are a total fool who knows nothing about the business. stick with tax, and extorting money from people.

  74. bohemian boyon 24 Feb 2013 at 4:48 pm

pratt man the next time you happen near the cliffs of moher JUMP OFF THE FUKKING THING

  75. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 5:34 pm

better again let me know when you are there and i will gladly push you off then peace at last

  76. bohemian boyon 24 Feb 2013 at 5:53 pm

i wonder if there is any way to get him banned from here ?

  77. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 6:10 pm

Roy should not let any jerk like him on this site. he is not a taxi driver, he is just a tosser, who lives for tax and making peoples lives a misery. an evil bastard.

  78. C5on 24 Feb 2013 at 8:24 pm

He is just a bored troll, ignore him dont reply to his comments and he will go away, he will say he is not going anywhere, but he will in time.

  79. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 8:31 pm

would not be safe to give him a psv licence

  80. Vat manon 24 Feb 2013 at 11:16 pm

I know lads the truth hurts you don’t like people to tell you how it is and how it’s going to be, I will post my daily earnings on Irish taxi org, as part of my research & I will gladly pass on the information to the Revenue. I believe honesty is the best policy

  81. Benon 24 Feb 2013 at 11:18 pm

    asshole

  82. Vat manon 25 Feb 2013 at 12:12 am

That’s fine call me what you like, however I’m still not going away, I’m well known to the industry

  83. Vat manon 25 Feb 2013 at 12:29 am

Protest 7am to 12pm slow drive through out the city, however a lot of taxi drivers are intending to ignore the protest the radio companies will be business as usual. And let’s hope the NTA can get the CCTV camera’s up on the taxi ranks to stop those taxi driver applying for hire illegally

  84. Benon 25 Feb 2013 at 7:47 am

you are probably well know as a crank, the type that no driver wants to carry. total nutter i bet

  85. bohemian boyon 25 Feb 2013 at 10:39 am

ben i wonder if you would know if it is the case that different rules apply to the forum, then apply to the blog ? some weeks ago roy ceased to permit posts that included the word sc.mbag as he found it to be offensive.yet over on the forum in quite recent post HE HIMSELF uses the dreaded word in response to a post to do with illegal parking at the dandalion. please explain this roy ?when i tried to post this fact this morning earlier, that to was held for moderation because i used the dreaded word to make my point. i will give roy points for consistency for blocking my posts every time i use the word, but remove them again because of his idea of equality.he seems to think its ok for him, and others, to use this word on the forum, but its NOT for me to use it on the blog. he will probably come up with some half baked excuse why its ok for the chosen few, but not ok for me.and while im at it its about time somebody pointed it out.roy keeps going on about what he believes is a closed shop at the airport, well i say what about the closed shop he has established on this forum ?roy also has his cronies on this forum

  86. Benon 25 Feb 2013 at 11:22 am

boh i never go near the blog, so i dont know what to say to you. just know that roy has his moments

  87. Vat manon 25 Feb 2013 at 11:29 am

We all have our moments Ben, even me

  88. bohemian boyon 25 Feb 2013 at 11:33 am

well i certainly hope roy will explain

  89. Benon 25 Feb 2013 at 11:50 am

he explains sometimes only. all depends on the mood.
bat man i thought you were nearly perfect, a model citizen. are you admiting to some imperfections now.

  90. Vat manon 25 Feb 2013 at 12:29 pm

Nobody is perfect Ben not even me

  94. bohemian boyon 25 Feb 2013 at 2:34 pm

ben i cant wait to see what kind of an answer roy comes up with regarding the word he used recently over on the forum, but banned me from using the same word here. he will probably try to defend the indefenceable as usual

  95. Benon 25 Feb 2013 at 3:21 pm

thats right boh, but there can only be one law for us all. i accept that roy owns the site, but we should be allowed to express ourselves also.

  96. bohemian boyon 25 Feb 2013 at 5:09 pm

ben its one thing to own the site, but if he not going to apply equality,to then there is no point posting on it. i also notice that he has neglicted to come here and defend his actions

  97. bohemian boyon 25 Feb 2013 at 6:18 pm

STILL no word from the big demon

  98. Benon 25 Feb 2013 at 6:45 pm

    he is running scared boh

  99. Royon 25 Feb 2013 at 7:10 pm

It wasn’t the word it was the words it was being used in conjunction with.
You see I had two options ban a load of words which on their own are fine such as
    Foreign
    Nigerian
    Non National
    ETC

    Or
Ban one word that was regularly being used in conjunction with them.

    See?

  100. Benon 25 Feb 2013 at 7:32 pm

    now let me digest that

  101. zedon 25 Feb 2013 at 9:10 pm

    What’s wrong with ETC ?

  106. bohemian boyon 25 Feb 2013 at 11:48 pm

havent a clue what he is on about ben have you ? he only looks in here when he is finished having a go at ttnh

  107. bohemian boyon 26 Feb 2013 at 12:01 am

ah sure i see now where i went wrong roy,i mentioned foreign national followed soon after by the word sc.mbag, where as over on the forum,YOUR HEADING is sc.mbags at the dandy, as you go on to describe them being engaged in activity you disaprove of,and point out that they are of a different culture. roy you really ARE a bleedin muppet

  108. bohemian boyon 26 Feb 2013 at 12:14 am

why were there so many taxis out tonight ? most unusual for a monday night. btw regulator, and cops operating outside barcode tonight, checking who had registred on the portal

  109. Vat manon 26 Feb 2013 at 2:22 am

What did I tell ya lads I knew they would be out checking up on drivers

  110. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 7:40 am

dont know what he is at boh, bit strange putting some womans car details up here unless there is a valid reason. nice to hear the reg guys are earning their crust at last. but bat man did warn us.
Mike these points stop you from operating a psv, but dont actually stop you from driving your car in a private capacity. am i correct here.

  111. bohemian boyon 26 Feb 2013 at 7:58 am

ben you would have to read the forum to understand the significence of why that ladys name , and taxi interest were posted here. in also highlights john ussers support for her position, which indicates, by [assocation] his support for multi plate owners. [of which i believe is one]at least i think that is the point the poster is trying to make

  112. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 8:11 am

looks like bat mans pension will be cut, how sad

  113. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 8:12 am

ok boh will have a look

  114. bohemian boyon 26 Feb 2013 at 9:07 am

ben i heard pratt man had an orgasim when he heard the regulator was out last nite

  115. Ex T Driveron 26 Feb 2013 at 9:16 am

Fat – Man , your either the worst troll ever or your f****g Deluded .

I got out if the Industry 1 yr ago after 9 yrs in it , Best move i ever made ( no disrespect to the drivers still in it ) . Fat Man if you think your gonna pull 450 a week after expenses your in for a very rude awakening and a serious hit of cash on start up to learn this harsh lesson that’s on the way for you . Nobody gives a crap if you have a pension or not .

If a driver is fully licenced and legal there is no need to fear or avoid Enforcement officers on the road , They should welcome these moves with open arms not protest against them .

  116. bohemian boyon 26 Feb 2013 at 9:32 am

could somebody please try and explain this to me. in all other industry there are many trade unions to look after the various interests of their members. builders, plummers, civil servants, white coller workers, hotels ,etc etc,the reason there are many trade unions to represent these workers is simple, they all do different jobs right ? the trade union officials who do this work would have a working knowledge of how the respective industry they represent works right ? but in the taxi industry there is only ONE job we do. if you read the different wish list of the four bodies, they all want more, or less the same things. so why the hell do we need four of them to deliver the one message ? my conclusion is that the battle for taxi industry is being fought among these four orginisations, rather then the people who it should be fought with . because there is an obvious desire on the part of the four different bodies to inflate their respective egos even more, we all pay the price for this. how many times has it been said to them by people in high places that they would be taken more seriously if they were to unite.we, the grassroots members should INSIST on it

  117. Ex T Driveron 26 Feb 2013 at 9:42 am

Too many egos in the 4 unions trying to shout loudest so they can be seen to be the saviours ;) . 1 union 1 mandate 100% backing from the drivers is whats needed . 1 leader with no alterior motives i.e , No MPO’s should be allowed influence the members .

  118. Vat manon 26 Feb 2013 at 10:26 am

Ex T Driver, sure I won’t know unless I try and I will post my weekly earnings on this blog, I’m not under any pressure anyway but as I said the extra few bob will come in handy. I didn’t hear anything about my pension being cut Ben I think that’s only the senior civil servants with the big pensions my pension is very small

  119. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 10:30 am

pensions above 32,500 so you will get a snip

  120. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 10:33 am

boh that would have been a big turn on for him ok, god only knows whats going on in the bedsit now

  121. Vat manon 26 Feb 2013 at 10:39 am

I’m not in a bedsit & far from it, anyway if my pension is cut i will put in a few extra hours in the taxi. I will be able to draw down my private pension in around 5 years time with a lump sum I’m looking forward to that

  122. Vat manon 26 Feb 2013 at 10:53 am

I’m feeling quite peckish this morning,I’m off to poach an egg & make a cup of tea & toast

  130. zedon 26 Feb 2013 at 12:54 pm

I posted yer one’s plates up ‘cos she wrote a letter(posted on the forum) that she only has three cars to feed her children, ……she has five cars which could feed a village, she wants the next of kin transfer ban withdrawn ,hope this helps clear this up.

Good to see ye all biting at Vatmans wind ups.:-)

  131. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 1:49 pm

thats really sad, only 3 cars. well over 25 years, i have only had 1 car, to feed my wife and kids, pay mortgage etc.and we never went hungry.

  132. bohemian boyon 26 Feb 2013 at 1:50 pm

zed much more importantly you highlighted the fact that john ussher supported her in her quest to have it overturned, himself being a multi plate owner.this is where the problem lies within the industry also, you have people like ussher, humpheries, god knows who else, supposed to be supporting drivers, when all the time they are only concerned about their own vested interest as multi plate owners. how could either of these two possibley be concerned about single plate owners ? its a complete conflict of interest

  133. Benon 26 Feb 2013 at 1:50 pm

boh i kinda guessed they were the handbag bars ok

  134. African Cabbieon 27 Feb 2013 at 1:25 am

    @BB and ger:
Take a Chill, l dont have to reply to every silly comment, moaning or groaning you make!
I am not your Daddy and l am not responsible for your woes!

Focus on the issue being discussed.

  135. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 9:06 am

oh no the return of vat man and robin

  136. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 9:38 am

there is a tread over on the forum called bad mouthing the reps. i think its totally wrong that these lads are the subject of constant critisim .i believe they are honest lads who have enough interest in the industry to try to right the wrongs that have been bestowed on us.people may disagree with the stratagy they have adopted, but surely then its right to assist by making suggestions to them as to where you feel they are wrong, instead of the constant barrage of abuse that is currently going on .im sure the reps would be receptive to any constructive critisim,or indeed suggestions, people might have. i am not a member of any rep group, but i am,and will continue to be,fully supportive of their efforts on my behalf.i think whats happening at the moment is hardly the way to achieve the much sought unity we all crave.dont forget these are full time taxi drivers who are UNPAID by us for the work they do on our behalf .wether you believe they are right,or wrong in their campaign for the betterment of the industry, let them know what you want them to do on your behalf

  137. Royon 27 Feb 2013 at 9:58 am

The industry is going through fundamental changes, you want us to sit back and say nothing, while idiots destroy any chance this industry has for a future,
    You are off your head,
When this bill goes through that will be it, over, if the reps achieve their objectives of watering down the regulations and leaving us in the stew we are in, that will be it, done! Now is the time to have your day or forever put up and shit up.
If the rep bodies are fuking up, we should be screaming from
    The rooftops. Now!

  138. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 10:10 am

strangely enough roy,i to disagreed with the proposed protest, for the same reasons as you ,but to slag the lads off i believe is NOT the way to get your points across. both you, and they have an obvious passion for the industry,so why not work constructively for its betterment together ?

  139. Royon 27 Feb 2013 at 10:24 am

The only posters dishing out personal abuse are those representing the rep bodies, it is impossible to have a any sort of reasoned debate on the topics with them.
You obviously misread the threads if you see it otherwise.

  140. geron 27 Feb 2013 at 11:03 am

Ac. what the fook is “im not your daddy” about? you must have made bail. hows things in ongar?

  141. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 11:12 am

no roy no misreading of the threads, just a recignation of the fact that it doesnt really matter at this stage who said what to whom. i just believe we should ALL bin our differences, and start afresh.we have now been given a golden oppertunity to improve our standard of living. we should grab it with both hands .people like john m, and you, have a huge amount to offer in a constructive way to the industry, i ask you to please get involved with the reps, and put forward your ideas in an athmosphere of calm, where hopefully common sense will prevail.you may think me niave, but i believe the potential for success in this bill,is due in no small part to the interest minister alan kelly has shown in our industry.i honestly believe he wants to see it succeed.this can happen but first i think we need to eliminate the mistrust that exist on ALL sides

  142. Royon 27 Feb 2013 at 11:23 am

In case you hadn’t noticed there was a strike called, against better enforcement and to protect consistent wrong doers, rep bodies were topical we discuss what is topical, now the strike is off, they’re on the back burner again,
We will discuss any announcement achievements or mistakes they make in the future, whether you like it or not.

  143. sclasson 27 Feb 2013 at 12:12 pm

Penalties is to collect revenue for nta
Where in the bill is the most important issue
Over supply how can drivers exit the industry
First a buyback to be allowed on.Back to work paid
Or back on further education paid.none of which taxi drivers are
Eligible for.Their is no way out.their traped in the taxi game.instead they decided to persecute us with demerits a nice word for getting
    Fukked over.
They already have laws to enforce let them get on with it no problem with that.100%.
I’m all on for a fundamental change but the way we’ve been treated so far would you put all your trust in them like does .we don’t.

  144. zedon 27 Feb 2013 at 1:35 pm

Some people are happy that drivers are to persecuted and penalised ,while MVO’s and Dispatch operations get off scot free, strange world we live in.

  145. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 2:22 pm

THE BITTERNESS AND RESENTMENT STILL COMES THROUGH WHEN SOME PEOPLE POST.I AM ONLY ASKING FOR ALL THIS IN FIGHTING TO STOP, AND LETS GO FORWARD TOGETHER. IT TOOK 30 OF THE NORTHERN TROUBLES BEFORE PEOPLE REALIZED THAT THE ONLY WAY FORWARD WAS THROUGH DIALOG . ROY I POSTED IN GOOD FAITH WHEN I ASKED YOU, AND JOHN M,TO BECOME INVOLVED WITH THE REP BODIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISCUSSING YOUR IDEAS. IN RELATION TO YOUR OBJECTION TO THE REPS PROTECTING THE WRONG DOERS,I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH YOU 100% .BUT I BELIEVE IN ORDER FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO BECOME REP BODY POLICY,YOU HAVE TO CONVINCE THEIR MEMBERS OF THAT,AND GET THEM TO VOTE ACCORDINGLY.I THOUGHT YOUR REPLY TO ME WAS COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR,BUT I ACCEPT THATS HOW YOU FEEL AT THE MOMENT. I SUPPOSE IN REALITY WHAT IM SAYING IS LIFE IS TO SHORT SO LETS BAND TOGETHER AND SAVE OUR INDUSTRY.

  146. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 2:24 pm

sorry for the capital letters below i forgot to take off caps lock

  147. Royon 27 Feb 2013 at 3:02 pm

    BB, Seriously?
Did you read the Sclass comment above, you want to pay for him to represent you?
You want drivers to shut up and leave them to it?
At least TTnH let us know what they are up to the others sit in their offices and use their “mandate” to help their dispatch/mpo buddies
BM, get back in your box!

  148. Benon 27 Feb 2013 at 4:25 pm

ac is back and roy is deleting posts and protecting him already. why do you protect these imports roy, do they owe you something.

  149. Royon 27 Feb 2013 at 5:17 pm

Because you are being racist, time and time and time againI’ve asked you to stop, but you cannot help yourself

  150. sclasson 27 Feb 2013 at 5:56 pm

Roy lm on the sub committee I don’t officially represent ttnh and if he became a member he can represent himself I’m giving my opinion

  151. bohemian boyon 27 Feb 2013 at 6:29 pm

roy are you for real ? its exactly the OPPOSITE that i have said. i asked you,and john m to get involved with the reps for the purpose of putting forward, and developing your ideas on how to improve the industry. i also asked their members to let them know through a vote process what they want them to achieve, and vote accordingly.i also have a lot of respect for ttnh because they are prepared to persue the ideals they wish to achieve. i just ask that such a task not fall to ttnh alone to achieve, it would be better if this was done in conjunction with other rep bodies.i dont wish to engage in a slagging match with you,but im puzzled as to how you believe this amounts to me saying to the members to shut up, and leave the reps at it when i have said quite the opposite ? i have encouraged people to get involved with their respective orginizations .

  152. Benon 27 Feb 2013 at 7:20 pm

the most racist person on this site is that ac guy

  153. African Cabbieon 27 Feb 2013 at 9:58 pm

How can l be racist when l dont discriminate against ANYONE?
Whether you are native Irish, naturalized Irish, black or white Irish, Non-National (as long as you are LEGAL and CERTIFIED), l dont give a hoot.
I treat you with the same respect, you treat me.
THAT CANT BE RACIST, CAN IT?

You drive a Taxi in Ireland, you pay your taxes, you dont do ANYTHING underhand or illegal ……then you are a fellow Taxi driver like myself and you deserve respect …… just as l deserve respect, notwithstanding that my “skin color” is darker than yours.

Go back and read most of your comments and see if you ‘fit the bill’.

    On to more serious issues:
*Taxi drivers must ask themselves: Do the “Reps” have the SAME INTEREST as the ordinary Joe Blog driving a Taxi?
if they dont have the same “interest or share the same values”, then the issue of any “Rep” working for the interest of the “Industry” (read: taxi drivers) is not just naive but ignorant!
Lesson: Elect “ordinary taxi drivers” (one license, one vehicle taxi driver) to Represent and fight your case.

Articulate what your ‘interests’ really are. Serialize them and find people who believe in those ‘interest’ to fight for them.

  154. African Cabbieon 27 Feb 2013 at 9:58 pm

*Can a house “divided against itself” STAND?
If (a big IF) your major interest is how to get rid of all “Non nationals / Dark skinned taxi drivers”, then your interest would be considered immoral, racist and not worth fighting for ……and that is where most loose the plot!
If you spend all your “thoughts and energy” on how to get rid of your fellow hard-working “legal” Taxi driver, WHAT GOES ROUND WILL EVENTUALLY COME AROUND ….to YOU!
Its a simple, universal law of Karma!

Smart “bureaucrats” know this and will help you “use one against the other” ….not for your benefit but for their own pocket (and you would have noticed that for EVERY NEW RULE implemented, the same poor Taxi driver has to keep paying more money for it – new Decals, new Logo, New Vehicles, New License fees, new this, new that …. but more money for the “law makers”!)

How come l have NEVER heard that “we” are protesting against the CONTINUOUS ISSUANCE OF NEW DRIVER LICENSES by the nta? …..even when they also agree and proclaim that there is a glut of Taxis(drivers)!
The choice is on the table.

    Nuff said, am off!

  155. Benon 27 Feb 2013 at 10:41 pm

what you mean is there is a glut of illegal african taxi drivers. you just cant handle the truth. take your expert opinions back to lagos with you, we dont want them.

  156. geron 27 Feb 2013 at 10:45 pm

U know what ac. if u dropped the “poor little black lad” crap , i might agree with some ofwhat u say. until then i wont. and of the 13 cars i reported last night, all of them were as you say “dark skinned”. Why would that be?.

  157. African Cabbieon 28 Feb 2013 at 12:35 am

Good, if l were you, l will stop pretending and just come out to carry a placard saying: Out with Taxi drivers who are not WHITE Irish. That cant be too difficult to say …..or are you so chicken?

As long as you pretend as if you are interested in solving the “problems” of the taxi business, then you cant solve any problem (since you have failed to positively pin-point the problem).
You only end of looking foolish and NTA makes more money out of you (lol) ….while you moan and groan all day long.
BTW, today was not that bad for business.

@ger: The answer to your question is inherent in your statements before that question.
Are you that dumb? Please keep reporting “dark skins”, there is an Oscar Award for doing so!
