This useful APP to help reassure passengers that their driver is fully licenced and is registered to the Vehicle is now available for mobile devices.
Please inform your passengers about this new facility and encourage them to use it.
Lets help remove rogue renters and unlicensed drivers from our midst.

Now here is something useful.
As long as Joe and Jane Fare will use it.
The punters that often stagger into my taxi will get into ANY vehicle that promises to get hem home. Even if it is a white van with large reflective yellow stripes and a stone guard over the windscreen. They often are to busy talking – or with the drunken waffle that passes for talk – into their mobile to use it for checking the taxi. And, may I remind you, I have heard some claim that they prefer a dodgy taxi because they will walk off without paying and tell the illegal cabbie to call the cops if he does not like it. It is amazing how some, seemingly so drunk that they are oblivious, suddenly are very cunning when it comes to paying (or creating a situation where they can get away without paying).
But yes, Roy, this would seem to be well worth giving it a try.
Even if it helps to put the fear of God into the illegals ! It might, just might, help to get rid of some !

Its free and It works all my details including photo are on it you need a smartphone as its an app no calls required its done be email it should scare off the illegals in time

No sophia, we have so much time on our hands waiting for a fare we can easily use our time at the rank sending sms messages to report illegals. They are THIEVES ! They steal other people’s work. There was so much excitement in the news about horse meat. The gangsters involved also stole work from the meat producers who were trying to survive whilst staying legal. They stole business and the reputation of the meat trade. It is the same with the taxis: the illegals steal our work and also give the taxi industry a bad name. The difference is: we have no Simon Coveney to put a halt to it, we have to do it ourselves. So we must blow the whistle ourselves.

thanks ger i wasnt sure if we had to wait till the bill was signed into law or not.do you know anyone that got any yet ? also i was wondering if , for instence you had two ordinary points for [say] speeding and you get another two for something like illegally plying for hire, do you add the two together and declare 4 points to your insurance, or is there a difference in aquiring demerit points as distinct from ordinary points ?

Have been using app since tuesday morning. Result…there are alot of unregistered vehicles out there. Close to 50% of vehicles checked, including those attached to radio companies came up unregistered. I got vehicles from VIPS, GLOBAL AND HAILO! The industry is as big a mess as i suspected. Just proves rigorous enforcement would get us all back to making a decent living. By “all” i mean full time professional consumer orientated taxi drivers!!!
A lot of the cars are rental. you know by looking at them. buckets of shit. this is where the proplem is. this is where the welfare scammers, illegal immigrants, tax dodgers, filthbags and vermin are. the have very little chance of getting stopped. time to get rid if these cheats. id say about 80% of cars that came up blank for me are rental. all acs buddies driving them too. no surprise there.

One of the good things about the app’ is that you’ve no fear of being raped by a stranger,….that is unless you don’t have a “smartphone ” in which case your rapist will be a stranger.
Or it could simply be a garage employee who can drive any vehicle,either way , if you’re murdered you won’t really care,and your phone will be put to good use if you will it to a charity…..Sweet dreams!!:-)

Pedestrians out of Grafton Street get in illegally parked taxi, then it makes an illegal U-turn into Nassau Street. Cops not in general my friends but there are not nearly enough of them and concentrating on easy meat. It’s getting worse not better !
Anyone try scanning the QR code on the dash id. Mine shows up as a Cork licenced driver with a blue Primera. I’m Dublin licenced with a silver Tragic.
The codes on the window stickers and the plate number shows the correct info.
