King Lear of the Taxis

This is Davidson Garrett, a NYC Cabbie known as the King Lear of Taxis.
The following video is hard hitting showing the plight of your average driver, with a recital of one of his poems by the man himself, one word Brilliant!

    Thanks for posting this Roy.

    The film will be aired on BBC Radio soon and in the local press. It will also be screened at the International Film Festival in England & the Portabello Film Fest, London.

    Filming was an experience – whilst the robbery was in progress I sat filming in the back seat – showered with glass. No naff computer cgi special effects here – the real thing! As for laughs – the filming of the man vomiting in the back seat was hard – we did seven takes because I couldn’t stop laughing. He’s a good actor.

    No laughing matter when it’s you’re taxi though I’m sure.

    Stay safe Cabbies and remember that there is someone out there that shares your plight.
