R.I.P Selfish
Roy March 30th, 2008
Took a not quite heartbroken mother home to Ballymun last night, she’d buried her son the previous day.
He was a bit of a wild child with whom she didn’t really get on. He had a sister who along with her boyfriend and child had done OK and recently purchased an affordable house near to her mother in Ballymun.
Turns out that the sister had gone to Spain for a weeks vacation and the brother had offered to put up a few shelves and other odd jobs about the place as he was a bit handy that way, so she gave him the keys.
When she arrived home she found him hanging from the banisters…….. she hasn’t been back into to the house since.
He didn’t give her a lot of though eh?

I think that was from the ‘this’ll teach them’ department. There’s no thoughtful way to kill yourself but it seems that sometimes the victim wants to really hurt his loved ones too.
Ah you’ve no idea what the lad went through. If your that mentally unstable that you want to kill yourself I don’t think he’d have picked the house just despite someone. Probably somewhere he’d have peace and quiet.
Possibly, but he certainly increased the mess he left behind

I’d tend to agree with Ben (above).
There is no doubt that suicide is construed as a selfish act by those left behind but I honestly don’t think that someone who is about to commit suicide, is in a fit state of mind to give any consideration to other people’s feelings.
That guy was obviously very troubled and it’s just so sad that his family will now have to live for evermore with the consequences of his actions.
On a brighter note, isn’t it brilliant to see Laura back on online
Sad so very sad whatever why you look at it.
Suicide is quite topical at present, there seems to be more of it in “good” times than in bad, I guess it’s more difficult doing poorly when all around are seemingly succeeding?
Most of the time when I hear background I can sympathise with the individuals story, this time however I couldn’t
OMG thats terrible.
I always say that everything can be sorted out in time so whatever he had done in the past he could have changed his ways.
I think the ones that throw themselves on Railway lines are the worst.Thats totally selfish. The poor driver, the passengers and the fire/ambulance men that have to clear up the mess and the poor people trying to use that line being delayed for hours.
