last nite i rang for a taxi, and i was really locked. i rang 8080800, i got my wires crossed with the lady as i was out of sorts. Anyhow i rang the lady back and totally out of character i started giving her cheek. it was around 1 ish. i really am sorry for being so disrespectful to you, that is not the person i am. i hope you will accept my apology, i would ring to apologise only for i am 2 ashamed.

  2. Discount Till Rolls

Roy my company sells taxi meter roll at extremely competitive prices. I was hoping my be you would all me to but a link on you site. It will benefit all taxi drivers as we sell the rolls at up to ½ price compared to what they are paying now. With the economic down turn everyone is looking to cut cost ,Even taxi drivers.

    Regards B

Alright Roy ,I read on the forum thats not the complete video ,where would I get a complete copy of it ? and discount meter rolls ,where are you working out of ?

@Vinny, Thanks for making it! difficult to control with tensions running so high, but I do my best!
@Gerry, I think that’s it? I’m sure it’s been edited down by the producers… but that’s standard practice

    Hi all,
I have been reading the various comments over the last few weeks since the protesting began and i would like to make the following points. (1) the country is in recession and money is tight for people (2) taxis are too expensive!! €4.10 for one passenger versus £2.20 for 5 (london) $2.50 for 4 (new york) €2.40 for 3 (paris) etc. etc. even allowing for the incl time/dist part. (3) the travelling public have plenty of options i.e. aircoach, luas, dart, dub bus and most importantly private car. (4) the public are moving away from pubs at nite thus reducing demand for taxis. (5) the options outlined above are why demand during daytime is falling like a stone. corp users are cutting out all “unneccesary” costs such as taxis. indeed many companies cancelled xmas parties!
finally the public have no sympathy for taxi drivers..why? because of price, overcharging, dirty cars , whinging drivers and because of the pressure in their own lives!! protests should target the people who can change the situation ie regulator and ministers…but go to their homes, constituency offices etc. blocking the streets will annoy business and the public. neither of which have the power or inclination to support the change we al want. many or all of you may disagree with my comments but that would be reflective of the head in the sand not my fault way of thinking. regards fred

    hay,

just wanted to know if anyone could help me find a taxi,
i got a taxi last night from a very helpfull taxi man but to my horror i had no money after spending it all partying.
however as a means of holding me to the deal of paying him the next day i gave him my watch and age card as insurance that i would pay him. all i have is his reg number and licence number from a receipt he gave me. Does antone know if i can use these details to find him???

  7. rusty

if the driver was alright about you giving him the watch he should get back to you today sometime .remember that the driver was working nights and isnt probably up yet .
remember a nice big tip aswell .
it was your fault for spending all your money .
quote…… i went up to the bar and ordered a round of drinks and to my horror i found id spent all my money
i gave him my watch and age card to keep the deal .

do you think you would get away with that one ???

I got a taxi from finglas last friday,D9 TAXI,Had bought a 22 inch tv in power city, which was in small light cardboard box, left it in taxi, phoned the company no joy..so for other people out there dont use that company…

  11. Flybynite

    John Nolan,
I reckon most drivers are honest. Don’t blame the base company if you happened to chance upon a driver who was one of the exceptions !
This has nothing to do with D9 Taxi. If you leave something on the Dart, bus or Luas, in a bar or shop. Be honest, what chances do you have to get it back? The driver may not even have noticed that parcel, it may have been taken by his next fare. Did you try the Carriage Office ? I have been verbally abused by people who left a mobile phone in my taxi. That was AFTER I had gone out of my way to get it back to them. So after such an experience I would not be too active any more trying to get found objects back to their owners. It works both ways, and in both examples (yours and mine) we are generalizing. You have responsibility yourself to make sure you gather your belongings before you leave the taxi .
And PS: I am forced to print endless rolls of receipts. Roughly 95% of my fares don’t want them. If you had taken it – as you should have – you would now have had a registration of the taxi you were in. It would have been easy for e.g. D9 Taxis to locate the driver for you.
Do not blame an honest cab company for your own negligence!

he didn’t notice a 22″ tele. ffs get a grip and John you’re full of it. Who buys a 22″ tele and “forgets it in the taxi. pleeeeeeeeese

Re-John Nolan comment left tv in d9 taxi
I work for d9 taxis that guy is a lier it never happen
It’s the type of crap other local drivers are spreading about d9 .because we offer low set fares .these drivers are not prepared to lower prices and are there fore loosing out.
All they want to do is sit on a rank all day and moan about how quiet it is.so telling people not to use d9 taxis will never work.Anything found in a d9 taxi is handed in to the base and I make every effort to contact the owner or it is handed over to the guards . No such phone call came in about a TV left in a car.

  18. PAUL

your right ,id say its a owner of rival waffling again ,a tv what next a child?.who are d9 anyway very same fleet and dont work around city much.

    Hi,
Site you refere to was removed by service provider a while ago. I found a similar site about the same area at www. antisocialbehaviour.eu. This eu site gives more info. Apparently the webs site was removed because individuals on the road wanted to hide everything that was going on and unlike us normal folks these yobs targetted women and children and people’s property late at night. You know what I mean, a private estate and all of that. A little clique with all sorts helping one another out in order to hide what was going on. . Get my drift? You can post your twopence worth on the site. God help all of us poor corpo tenants, if only we had the joy of being residential. There again these things never happen in private estates, well that’s what the papers say and the papers are always right.

    Hi,

I’m wondering can someone help me trace a camera, I have only come across this website now. My husband got a taxi outside Holles Street at the end of November 2009 and he dropped our camera on the journey to Beaumont. I know it’s over a year now but I have searched the internet since and have had no luck. It was a black digital camera (I think it was Canon but threw out the packaging), and there are precious pictures of our baby (boy) in intensive care that I would give anything to get back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    G.

I am looking for information about a taxi that wreck on july 19,2011. I also need to know who is responsible if the passenger is injured and sent to the hospital. I have a friend over in Ireland who was involved in a wreck and sent to a hospital in cappamore. Do you know of mick spencers royal hospital. I just want to find out if this is true please help. The passenger name is Terri Costello from America. I am trying to find the police record of this accident. It happened along the express way linking Cappmore to roxboro Ireland. Thats all I know can you help.

  27. John

    Discount Taxi’s
The regulator say that taxi drivers may discount fare’s. But it does not say that anybody else can do this for them. The discount taxi companies are deciding on the discount, to build their custom at the expense of the unfortunate taxi driver. Is this legal ?
Discounting Taxi fares is a death spiral for the industry, and drivers who participate in this practice have only themselves to blame for the decline in income this causes.
Taxi companies making arrangements with hotels and pubs, for exclusive rights to service the Hotel / Pub customers are interfering with the right of the taxi driver to service all customers within his licensed area. This practice undermines the licencing system and is allowed only because the regulator wants all taxi’s to align with companies. Where are the unions? who is looking after the drivers ?

  28. bohemian boy

correct john this is what i have been saying all along . i cant understand why independent drivers are not orginizing themselves to fight this threat . its obvious that kd and her crew are hell bent on trying to make us all join these gangsters . she also regulates in favour of them . i have been on to the competion authority , but they say if an illegal act is being committed then it is a matter for the police and not them . this is bullshit the compettion authority have 2 people on the taxi advisory council and they dont want to upset their gangster friends who run these radio companies . i just cant understand why drivers who work in these radio companies appear to be terified to speak out against their masters if all these drivers told these leeches to go fcuk themselves with their discounts what are they going to do ?

  29. rickmat

    hey,

was wondering if anyone can help me find a taxi driver. got brought home by a really sound taxi driver who helped me out of a bit of bother (had lost me wallet). had arranged for him to come by me work and collect the fare i owed him but he still hasnt shown.

i have his plate number so was wondering how i can track him down and get his number!

    any suggestions would be great!

  30. leicester taxi

I think that this really is one of the most significant info blogs for me. And i’m grateful that I discovered you. But just want to comment on a couple of general things, the web site design is great, the article actually is terrific. Great work, all the best

  31. bohemian boy

i said it before and ill say it again independent drivers need to act now to oppose this plan by the review committie to make us all join gangster radio companies . it seems clear to me anyway that this is the plan . why are these crooks given so much say in what way the industry is run . there is one of them posting on the forum for a while now , [on a recruitement drive no doubt ] in anticipation of such plan. they have their drivers sitting in hotel grounds taking work illegally from you and me . i have been on to the enforcers a number of times about it . the drivers who do this have no morals

  32. bohemian boy

was just thinking about all the hype surrounding the priority hall thingy . the problem was no enforcement of safety within this complex . could you not say the same about the taxi industry on the same grounds ? no enforcement unsafe cars ? people illegally operating ? i can see no difference except to say priory hall is being sorted with immeadidate effect where we have been operating in these conditions for years , and still have to wait till the review group make their recomendations

  33. steph1

The only reason that the priory hall situation is being addressed is that hundreds of people are being upskuttled from their homes through no fault of their own. Some of these people have mortgages on these properties and they are not going to be able to pay them especially if they have to rent somewhere else until a decision is made on the apartment block. I feel for these people. After investing so much money into making a home for themselves it is a disgrace that they find themselves in this situation. Seems now that Ireland is a country full of rogues!

  34. bohemian boy

steph i to feel for them , but the judge directed the corpo to pick up the tab for their alternative accomadation , also the point i was making was that they were evicted from their homes for safety reasons , and because of lack of enforcement of these rules , my point being sometimes our customers are in this situation because they could be traviling in a car that has been rented out by the likes of josh , and because of the lack of enforcement , that remains to be the case . the only difference being , we have to wait so long for our problems to be sorted , while priory hall is being looked after right away

  35. bohemian boy

there is one particular gentleman over on the forum trying to give the impression that the cab company he runs is totally professional , yet he has no problem paying hello money to certain hotels in dublin so that the scumbags that work under his brand can sit in the carparks of these hotels and ILLEGALLY steal the work that should have be destined for the street. talk about double standards

  36. Sho

Hi I lost keys on Saturday night in Blackrock area of Dublin. I was in a taxi outside Tonic nightclub. I understand this is an independent taxi rank would you have an idea how I would get in touch with these taxis?

  37. Fran

Hi I got a taxi from Stephens Green to Rathfarnham last nite around 2.30am, the taxi driver was a young guy from the Rathfarnham area called Paul Murphy and he has disco lights on the ceiling of his taxi, I left something in the boot of his car and am desperate to retrieve it, unfortunately I live in an apartment so he would find it difficult to track me down and he was a sound guy so I know he will hopefully hand it in but am anxious to get my stuff back, does anyone know this guy so I can try and contact him, any help would be much appreciated, thanks
    Fran

  38. SpurredoninDublin

Sorry if I’ve joined the debate rather late, but is it really the intent of the regulator to force every cab onto a radio circuit? The radio circuits have done more to impoverish the drivers than the recession.

  39. bohemian boy

hell will freeze over before i will ever join one of those gangsters . when i came into this industry , i came in to be my own boss . that status goes right out the window when you join with these companies . back door work , reductions being offered by them at YOUR expense , wear uniforms which you must pay for , loose your self worth through intimidation and fear , treated like sh.t by base staff, etc etc . as well as all that they showed their true colours when they went in , and camped in the grounds of certain hotels in dublin , and iILLEGALLY took work from street drivers , and in some cases intimidate independent drivers who were dropping off at the said hotels . these same towrags dont have the balls to walk into ebbs office and tell him to stick his radio where the sun dont shine . i would love one of them to try to tell ME that i cant pick up from the hotel that they have set up home in .bewleys hotel on way to the airport even has a sign up saying cab 2000000000000000 cars only i have reported it to compettion authority

Just open up a shop and get loads of fools of taximen who will work for 20 or maybe 40 percent discount. There are loads of them out there and charge them about 400 euro per week.

  43. patrick healy

African CABBIE YOU and all the other brothers must be making some money now. I would say your cleaning up at the Airport also a lot of IRISH scabs love this. Finally some taximen stood up for their rights. I hope they are successful

  44. African Cabbie

    @patrick healy:
Do you guys just relish in insulting “African drivers”?
How many of “our brothers” have you actually seen doing what you allege?
Take your phone and do a video for twenty minutes (and be honest about it) and lets see who the “real scabs” are.

We may not be “peach” but we have dignity!

Its very easy to point “one crooked finger” at others but unfortunately, the “remaining four” are pointing at yourself! (African proverb)

I will ALWAYS support “fairness to everyone” irrespective of their color.
That is ME…and l am very proud to be “ME”, African Cabbie.

  45. Elena Jones

Hi, I took a taxi from Copper Face Jacks to Jury’s Inn Hotel on Parnell Street this Saturday just gone (8th) at around half four in the morning. I think I left my camera in the taxi and wondered if anyone had found it/handed it in? It’s a Samsung, it’s red and it has a grey wrist band attached to it. It might have slid down the side of a seat or something. Me and my friends can’t remember which taxi firm we used as we didn’t go to a specific taxi rank, we flagged one down passing us on the street. All I know is that it was a large 7 seater cab.
The camera has all of my 21st birthday photographs on it from my time in Dublin and it would mean so much to me to get them back, thanks 🙂

  49. bohemian boy

roy i am very surprised having read over on the forum, that you believe cab companies are within their rights to insist on the wearing of uniforms, offering discounts, subjecting drivers to disiplenary action, etc etc, as far as i am concerned , the one, and only, function of a cab company, is to find work for the people who pay them to do so . their remit DOES NOT extend to telling these drivers how to conduct their business, nor does it extend to offering concessions to the public on the drivers behalf . the problem is the drivers need to grow a pair, which i dont think will happen any time soon

  50. Roy

I’m afraid it does BB, the drivers can tell them to rev up and give back their data heads and PDAs but they operate under the Cab companies rules.

the WORD on the street is that hailo are crippling the radio companys, long may it continue.i then hope when that happens, that hailo will ALSO find itself in trouble through having to many drivers.trying to compete. then maybe after ALL that happens drivers will finally realize what is obvious THAT WE DONT NEED RADIOS, OR APPS.maybe then we can all enjoy the status of being independent. this is the ONE industry were the workers [ie the drivers] have TOTAL control to guide it in whatever way they decide is right.yet for some strange reason, they decide to give that power to a load of middle men [ie the radio companies] WHY? you have cut these people in to your business when it was completely unessesary again i ask WHY? this industry should be run by drivers, for drivers . surely its common sense that we dont need these middle men[radio companies, and apps]take back the power that you should NEVER have given away in the first place.YOU DONT NEED THIS SC,M

  56. bohemian boy

jesus christ in heaven. i really have got to stop reading the forum . all the talk about which middle man[radio company/app] offers the best deal to drivers. my blood is boiling that time is wasted talking about these towrags .will youl NEVER realize that this is YOUR industry, that YOU call the shots, AND YOU DONT NEED HAILO, EBBS,KELLY,KEARNS,ETC,ETC .why oh why do you insist on giving these scumbags [who think you are their employees] a totally unnessesary foothold into your business ? they are not needed. its the one industry were there is a golden oppertunity to direct how the business is run, and what do you do ?you invite the above mentioned to come in, and take control from you. as long as i live i will NEVER understand it

  57. bohemian boy

yes and i did not used the word ,i posted as SC,M which appeared to be acceptable to you.i also think you are splitting hairs .there also appears to less censorship of the forum, then there is of the blog. or is it just me

  58. Alana

anyone know how i can track down a taxi driver i had from the taxi rank at dublin airport saturday morning? my phone and must have fell out of my pocket and gone under the seat or something when i got out, and as its on silent when i tried ringing it just rang out.
I have his first name, a vague description of him and the car but thats it.

  59. zed

One in seven in the taxi industry have a criminal record, what do you expect? a Leopard never changes it’s spots,it’s just unfortunate that Alana got one of those, and not one of us.

  60. ger

Ben. vat man wants everybody to pay tax so he gets his big fat pension everyweek. hed be fooked if the tax take stopped. he would be like me then, a beggar on 4 wheels with a taxi sign.

  61. bohemian boy

roy do the honorable thing and DO NOT promote any more of these totally unrequired middlemen who are not needed in the industry.these cab company owners really believe that the drivers are their employees.please dont help to promote them, instead try to be instrumental in ridding the business of them

  62. bohemian boy

i call on all INDEPENDENT drivers to unite in a common cause.its no secret that the nta would love us all to be aligned to these gangsters.they regularly make rulings in there favour .if you wish to preserve your status as INDEPENDENT,then i believe it is imperative that we unite now. if you share my view then i urge you to write to the nta advising then not to go down the road of trying to coerce drivers into joining these corrupt gangsters who would be more be more suited to the crime section of the sunday world then sitting in an office telling SELF EMPLOYED people what to do.

  63. bohemian boy

no proper taximan should need ANYONE to find work for him.he should be able to find his own.and he CERTAINLY does not need someone who thinks he is an EMPLOYEE telling him what to wear, what to charge, and disciplining him for giving back heavy discounted work we THEY negociated the price for.the one aspect of the business that they SHOULD involve themselves in is stopping work going out the back door to the base staffs cronies.

  64. Tony

scab co’s were always sweetheart clubs, that will never change. until the drivers grow a pair and walk away. and dont for get to return the radio etc, straight through the office window.

  65. Tony

Ger thats brillo, and describes the taxi biz to perfection. infested with vermin, criminals, junkies, dealers, perverts etc etc.

  66. Tony

    Hi
Can anyone please help me with this? Lost my samsung galaxy s3 in a taxi early sundat morning from Gracepark/Collins Ave. area going to Richmond Rd. All my contacts etc are on it and I am willing to offer a reward (€100) for its return. It has a distinctive Game of Thrones Cover (House Targaryen).
    Thanks

  67. ger

Tony. does ur phone have a tracker on it? Ask ur service provider. Check with the guards in santry. it might have been handed in. other than that theres not much hope.

  68. Sean

    Hi All,

I left my keys in a taxi this morning in Sandyford industrial estate. Would be great if anyone could help me out. I didn’t get any info on the taxi but it was about 9:15AM and I was collected on the stillorgan dual carriageway.

  69. Paudie

ger told you so, he is a total tosser. he is the same breed of fool as doyle or deering. maybe even worse. he does not have the balls to tackle the illegal skum that have the industry in the gutter.

  70. ger

    No he did not
Paudie, what kelly knows about taxi industry you could write on the back of a stamp. He knows shag all . Just like that fool of a woman doyle. She , more than anybody destroyed the industry, she had a chance to stop it and she did SFA.

  71. Paudie

totally agree with you ger, it was doyle who caused the rot in the industry. she should never have been appointed to her cushy job. pure fool that woman, just like noel Dempsey. why do we need rural hacks, they will come into towns robbing jobs when they realise their is no business in country areas. Kelly will not solve our problems.

  72. steph1

Spot on Paudie. They think they are great with their hair brained ideas. There is hardly enough work for the taxis we have in rural Ireland without bringing in these rural hacks. There will be no business for them from Monday to Thursday bar maybe a few doctor’s appointments. Rural pubs are closing all over the place so this is a non-starter.

  73. Molly

Left my Samsung Galaxy s4 in a cab last night. He picked us up outside Bar 37 on Dawson street, made a quick stop in Terenure and then finally in Rathgar. It’s in a white case and would really appreciate getting it back.

Unfortunately, don’t have the license number or any other details. Was just hoping the driver or someone would of turned it in.

  74. sclass

    Molly
    Your story is so common
With the biggist roof sign in the world with five big numbers on it that very few people notice.
Their is also a registration plate on all cars.
    Which is on the receipt

The drivers name and number is also on the dash I’D
    Sorry about the phone,

  75. Hannah Creed

Hi, I left my peach/pink leather purse in a taxi on Saturday the 4th of October containing my Garda I.D with name Hannah Creed and also my iPhone 5S with a turquoise cover. We were being taxied from The Academy to Ranelagh. I cannot remember the company the taxi worked for, if any. I am so desperate to get my stuff back, the phone was a gift I had just received for my birthday. I am a student also so this has upset me a lot. Any help would be appreciated. Reward being offered. Thanks

  76. Ryan Joyce

    Hey there,

Last night I was out with friends, got a bit too drunk and needed a taxi home. I arrived at my destination and realised I had no cash. The taxi driver brought me to an ATM and for some reason my card didn’t work. I was extremely apologetic and told the driver I would drive the money over to where ever he wanted when I was free from work. He has since texted me abusive messages asking for 30 euro which is more than double what the fare usually costs. He also added that he drove to my apartment to collect the cash and I wasn’t there but he wants to be reimbursed for this trip 10 euro (now a total of 40 euro owed). The driver took my passport as collateral which I really need back so don’t want to anger him. I’m just wondering what rights I have and if I really have to pay him 40 euro? I’d appreciate any help with this.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

  77. Ben

Make arrangements to meet this guy and pay him what the meter fare was on the night. Bring a witness with you just in case he wont hand back your passport. If that happens, go to the Gardai. Also you could report him to NTA, for the abusive txts.

  78. sclass

It’s illegal to take anyone’s passport,
BUT….if you offered the driver your passport to hold until you paid him
    Well that’s another story.
The taxi driver is entitled by law to the full metered fare ,
It is a offence not to pay a taxi fare.
Maybe it’s time for the garda to get involved.

  79. kasia

Left my samsung s4 in a taxi on sat 29th we took a taxi outside wright venu in swords i know the taxi driver name wos Arthur but i dont know what company he was from girls who found the phone were trying to live a taxi driver phone no on my friend voicemail but battery die on my phone so i only got 085….. Any help would be appreciate. Thanks

  80. ger

Ya wont be seeing that again. Ask santa for a new one. Or better still, theres a guy on here called Mr rat,he will buy you a new one, he is minted. You will find him in mickey ds in airside stuffing hamburgers down his gob and dreaming of new insults for bboy.

  81. Annette

Hi, I got a taxi from the rank in Dundrum on the 10/12 but I left my wallet in the car, it was around a quarter to 12 at night and I had a few drinks so I don’t remember the name of the driver. There is ID with my name on it, there was no cash in my wallet so just need my cards back. I checked with the Dundrum Garda Station but is there anywhere else in Dundrum that it would be left by the driver?

  82. Ben

He has had lots of time to return them, probably in the bin by now. Unless he returned cards to bank. Always get a receipt for your trip, in case of a problem.

  83. Rat Catcher

Fortunately no cash/high value items lost on this occasion. I’d suggest using Uber in future, 10% off the metered fare and you have the driver’s contact details with receipts delivered automatically. Use promo code 2jvxy for some free introductory credit.

  84. Rat Catcher

Anecdotal evidence suggests that it’s quite common for clients to be raped by Dublin taxi drivers but it would be a very un-Uber thing to do. UberX only uses licensed taxis in Dublin so the risk of rape/murder/etc is a lot lower than with hailing on the street or using a rank given that journeys/drivers are recorded in detail. It’s proving quite popular at Dublin Airport where passengers are most likely to be overcharged from the rank.

  85. Rat Catcher

I should add… the 10% discount is in addition to no call out charge i.e. the fare you pay will be 10% less than you’d pay with Hail0. That equates to a discount of up to 40%… and, for drivers, Uber is the only dispatch firm that gives discounts at it’s own expense rather than at the driver’s expense…. and you can try it free of charge, that promo code again, 2jvxy!

  86. Rat Catcher

Also noteworthy… UberX cars are selected from the very best vehicles licensed by NTA. Uber is the only dispatch firm that enforces quality standards over and above those enforced by NTA…. and you can try it free of charge, that promo code again, 2jvxy!

  87. ger

How much are they paying you rat? Or are you CEO of uber and you have us fooled all this time that you are a poor simple boy from fingal who survives on handouts from your beloved teacher wife and on a diet of hamburgers from mickey ds. As for your comment about the fine upstanding drivers at DAP ripping people off, that was uncalled for, some of the best drivers in dublin operate from DAP. Im talking about decent people who know dublin inside out. Men and women who have lived here their whole lives. Drivers who care. I would go as far as to say the DAP drivers are the best taxi drivers in the world. Some people let their permits go and are now bitter and in some cases twisted. Very, very twisted in some cases. A stay in portrane might be of great benefit to these people. They have issues.

  88. Rat Catcher

Jeez, last week you were on complaining about the poor first impression of Dublin afforded to tourists forced to travel in 1999 pieces of sh!t! UberX offers the best quality taxis available in Dublin at very competitive rates.

Dublin Airport consistently tops the table of complaints for overcharging… despite the fact that a lot of victims don’t even know they’ve been robbed!

I don’t think anyone would envy you the meagre earnings you report, Ger… what was it you said, you’d earn more working for McDonalds and you wouldn’t have to pay DAA for the privilege?

Don’t forget to try UberX free of charge, that promo code again, 2jvxy!

  89. Rat Catcher

Hail0 man? Coincidentally, the last taxi driver convicted of sexual assaulting a passenger was a DAA permit holder. However, sexual assault often goes unreported and if anecdotal evidence is to be believed is very commonly committed by Dublin taxi drivers. Obviously using a service like Uber significantly lowers the probability of being raped given the inherent monitoring and traceability… and it’s 10% cheaper than Hail0. Try UberX free of charge, that promo code again, 2jvxy!

  90. ger

8 quid a week rat. Excellent value. I dont pity all the fools who gave up their permits to keep working the radios for 90-100 a week. Radios that now have no work. Great pick up in DAP this year. I should really say an excellent pick up. Thanks to the hard work of DAP taxi drivers. Customer service at its best. A lot of companies could learn a thing or two from the DAP drivers. Wonderful people and a credit to the country. Except for the sewer rats and the1999 shitbucket merchants, and two faced labour supporters.

  91. Rat Catcher

    2jvxy…

Can’t be up to much if you’re telling the truth about your earnings but each to his own. No 99 shitebuckets with UberX and 10% cheaper than Hail0. Try it free of charge, that promo code again, 2jvxy!

  92. karen

Hi I’m looking to track down a taxi driver I had a few years ago frank rock, believe he lives in Dublin 8. I had a Mobil for him but its out of service a 083 number. Would anyone have new contact details?

  93. Hayley Williams

Hello! I caught a taxi on Monday 14th late night after going out! I left my iPhone 5 in the taxi p, but he only information I have is the taxi mans name (SERGEI) if anyone can identify this man I would be so grateful as I am traveling and leave Ireland soon! hayleywilliams30@live.co.uk

  94. Red dennis

What are the drivers views on the proposed new ” taxi signs ” ? . I’d say bring them on . Why not compromise and get them to drop the door decals for our support in new signs ???. A 50 hour maximum work week would be easy to monitor with new signs . Would that put an end to double jobbers ????

  95. ger

No it would not put an end to double robbers. It would however put an end to me and many other drivers. 50 hrs. That’s nothing. Double robbers should be fuked outta the game altogether. Not needed.

  96. Bohemian boy

I think it would be great if they limit working hours to 50 a week. The 40 hours double jobbers work in their other jobs would be taken into account and they could then only work 10 hours a week driving their taxis. We would then not be under so much pressure and we could enjoy a normal life. Double jobbers would leave the industry altogether as it would not be worth their while for ten hours a week. I don’t know of any proposal to do this though, does anyone else. ?

  97. Ben

Cant wait for the day that they can police our working hours, 3 only 11 hour shifts would be great. Days off and all the craic coming soon. No double jobbers then when hours are monitored. All the part time scum gone, and all the illegal sewer rats. No more Dublin bus drivers working total of 140 hours per week. Roads will be much safer. And what century is all this likely to happen ?

  98. Bohemian boy

Ben I think you can only work. 3 days with 11 hour shifts CONSECUTIVELY. but you can work up to a total of 56 hours in a week. I may be wrong, but that’s my understanding of it. As for policing of it, believe it or not, i very recently wrote to the. NTA to ask that very question and their reply was that they have no plans to monitor the working hours of drivers, and referred me to the legal position regarding the 11 hour shift

  99. Ben

Taxi industry don’t matter to NTA, apart from fees, that’s all they want from us. They don’t care if we are starving for work, they have big salaries, and nice offices. Few company cars and big expenses for doing very little. They tray us like shit, and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

  100. Ben

Did anyone see that crap on tv3 news about how easy it is to order a roof sign and get an illegal taxi on the road. That’s being going on for years with the sewer rats, and no one cares. Is this supposed to be news ?

  101. ger

Yeah Ben I saw that . No surprise there. Like you say they have been at that for years . That and many, many other scams. The 526 million they send home doesn’t fall outta the sky. Very resourceful are our little imported friends.

  102. Bohemian boy

I think it’s great that there is a heavy emphasis on these proposed new smart roof signs.. One of the features of this is, that they can monitor the hours a driver works. I know there will be some who will disagree, but if this is instrumental in taking double jobbers out, then surely it should be welcomed by all full time drivers. You would be able to enjoy a normal life like everyone is entitled to because you would not be under pressure from these scumbags who are eroding your livelihoods. Hopefully you will agree with what I’m saying, and support the immediate introduction of this proposal

  103. Ben

Its good in ways BB, just as long as it don’t become big brother style monitoring. If it gets the scabs and sewer rats out, I will support it.

  104. Bohemian boy

Lads with respect, if i have nothing to hide, then i have nothing to fear. My whole theory is based on getting illegals out, double jobbers out, and others who do not want to be part of a fully legal, fully professional, fully compliant, taxi industry. I want to work in an industry i can be proud of, and customers can be proud to use. I believe these proposals represent an opportunity to achieve that, and for that reason i believe it should be fully supported by full time drivers

  105. Red dennis

My god some TAXIDRIVERS big fear …. Revenue . Lads if your not earning it you can’t be taxed on it . Some drivers are so blind they can’t see the bigger picture . Bring on the new roof signs and connect them up to the meter . Limit the working hour week and stop the scum getting into my taxi asking for discounts . These people have the money …. They just don’t want to pay what’s on the meter!!!!! We pay for meters … If you want a discount get into a Hackney that’s falling apart because the driver hasn’t the money to maintain it . The NTA and the government want standards …. Well standards COST .

  106. Ben

Another homeless man has died in Dublin, off Dawson St. Well done stickers Kelly for sorting the homeless problem, you deserve a big promotion. Bet you wont find any Syrians homeless when they arrive with their extra large begging bowls. Nor are there any Nigerians homeless in Ireland. Wonder why?

  107. Ben

Terrible news story from Dundalk area taxi driver stabbed to death. Its time for security screens, and some vehicle like the London cab. Its not safe out there anymore, too many headbangers .I don’t do late nights anymore because of the way its gone, had a few nasty ones over the last few months. No money would pay you for that.

  108. C5

Over the last number of months ben I’ve been thinking what kind of taxi ill get next, after hearing that shocking news it has my mind made up to get a dispatch or expert style bus with a screen and cctv, front seats will only for somebody i can really trust like a couple or a female passenger. That’s the third murder of a taxi driver

  109. Ben

I agree with you there C5, I am thinking of changing my very reliable skoda superb, but will go 8 seat next time. Screen and cctv are essential now, as we are wide open to attacks, and robberies. Hate parting with my superb as its the best car I have ever owned. If its possible to get a screen for one of them it would be great.

  110. C5

Usually not more than 2 weeks, if you ever run into them again the second you spot it hit the brakes and check your speed because it needs 2 seconds to lock on at a steady speed to register a speed, it cannot lock on if the car is decelerating rapidly. It happened to me i was doing 57kph in a 50 when i came face to face with it, i hit the brakes as above, i was certain i got done but never got a notice, that was 2 months ago,a lad going for a job with the go safe vans told me that.

  111. Ben

That’s good to know C5, I had a few near misses with them, and thought I was caught . But never got any notice from them. Of course I hit the brakes rapid, that must have saved me.

  112. Sore

I was on the N11 inbound, just before the first exit for Stillorgan (The Hill). There is a bend on approach, suddenly i noticed the van. Checked my speed, was doing 70 in a 60, hit the brakes and was certain i was caught. Did not get any notice and i was pleasantly surprised.

  113. bohemian boy

lads i urgently need advice here. two weeks ago a driver rear ended me. he accepted total liability, and the matter was settled. my car was repaired, and i duly collected it from the garage on wednesday of this week. you wont believe this, but yesterday, just one day later, an uninsured, hit and run driver smashed into the back of me and done terrible damage to my car. i was attended to by lots of people, one of whom was a taxi driver who went after your man,and told him to get his ass back to the scene.the driver told this taxi driver he was not insured, and was not going back. we got his reg ,and the police confirmed the car is registred to his mother, and he was not insured to be driving it. the cops know the location of the car now,but they tell me they need to be able to place your man as being the culprit. thank God i am not injured, but i dont know where i stand from an insurance point of view. the first claim is still being processed, and this may seem to the authorities that i am involved in an elaborate insurance scam.any help would be welcome

  114. bohemian boy

i have been told that if i am a diabetic [which i am ] and have not declared to my insurance company, this could invalidate my policy. i honestly cannot remember if i declared it or not,but knowing myself id say its unlikely i did not declare it

  115. bohemian boy

i have been told that if i am a diabetic [which i am ] and have not declared to my insurance company, this could invalidate my policy. i honestly cannot remember if i declared it or not,but knowing myself id say its unlikely i did declare it

  116. Ben

BB less said about diabetes here the better. Insurance companies will go to extremes to discredit you. And maybe the other uninsured driver might log on here. You need a good solicitor to sort this one. That’s your new car that’s been banged twice then ?

  117. Sore

You should contact the Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland. They compensate victims of road traffic accidents caused by uninsured and unidentified vehicles.

Your medical condition has nothing to do with being rear ended. It would, however, be an issue if you were to rear end somebody. I would notify the insurance and let them know of the condition as soon as possible. There are loads of people driving with the condition and the members of the Insurance Federation have agreed that they will not load their premiums with people with Diabetes. Check http://www.diabetes.ie for more info.

  118. bohemian boy

Ben the cops have located the car which is registered to his mother. i dont know if she is insured, but i know he certainly is not.the cops are trying to establish through cctv, exactly what happened. they also want to be able to place this fukker at the scene in case he claims it wasnt him driving it.

  119. bohemian boy

Ben the cops told me this car was stopped in April where the owner was prosicuted for non production of documents they requested at the time.the registered owner at that time was an African who lives in Castleknock. it had since been sold a number of times, and is now traced to your mans mother.it will be interesting to see if the auld one is insured.the situation as i understand it is, if she claims she gave him permission to drive it she will be in the frame for allowing an uninsured driver drive it,and if she claims he took it without her knowledge it will be treated as a stolen car. i dont know which would be the best senario for me

  120. ger

It’s took one week exactly for me to the the letter. 3 points and 80 euro fine. First time I ever got points. Fuktard was hiding under a tree on NCR on approach to sumerhill junction. And when I say hiding I mean hiding. Two Dublin City Council workman’s container’s blocked my view of him. Didnt see the snakey fuk til I was going by him. Paid the fine last Saturday. Got a letter from the gobshites in the RSA yesterday to tell me I now have 3 points on my licence. Very efficient when they want to be. Pity they can’t fix the fukin roads as quick. Oh I forgot, no money in that. And after reading in the papers yesterday, I’m sorry I paid the poxy fine. We could all be off the roads in the space of a couple of weeks.

  121. Rat Catcher

Waste of time contributing to this Blog, anything Roy dislikes is deleted.

Anywaysanall, try driving within the speed limit and you won’t get any tickets. You’re supposed to be professional drivers FFS.

If you have fully comprehensive insurance your insurance company will look after the repairs to your car and it will not effect your NCB, BB. However, they may not cover consequential damages such as loss of earnings, meter reprogramming, personal injuries, etc so you would be best advised to consult a solicitor in respect of those items. MIBI will appoint another insurance company to act as the third party’s insurer. That company will act in exactly the same manner as it would if the little gurrier`was a properly insured driver so don’t worry unnecessarily. As regards the “best scenario” for you… it’s simple, the less you know the better, in all correspondence you refer to the third party (TP for short) and don’t get drawn into it any further. All you know for sure is that you were hit from behind. The rest is not your problem, leave it to the Gardaí and insurance companies to sort out. From what you say it’s likely that you

  122. Rat Catcher

    …cont!

From what you say it’s likely that your insurance company (and your solicitor if necessary) will lodge claims against a MIBI appointed firm and the little gurriers mother’s policy and those parties will eventually agree who is liable. In the meantime, as noted above, your car repairs will be covered by your insurance company assuming you have fully comp insurance.

  123. ger

Thanks for the advice rat, I never thought of that before. You really are so clever. Why does a person of your superior intelligence even bother to come on here to the “vegetable patch”?. We would be absolutely lost without you. You guide and educate us day in day out. You really are one special person. An absolute hero for the little man.

  124. Ben

It would be nice to be as clever as the Rat, and to know maybe half as much as him. Rat you are way too smart to be driving a taxi and carrying ordinary little people.

  125. Bohemian boy

Got the cost involved this evening. Was pleasantly surprised. The total amount being paid by my insurance is 785 euro also i have to pay 500 excess however i am told i could get my 500 back from the MIBI when it is proved i was not at fault. Thanks again for all the help

  126. Rat Catcher

    You’re welcome.

Very little damage there BB but you ought to chase the €500 and the usual for downtime. Did the double jobbing firemen disconnect you battery causing the meter to lose it’s memory? Won’t take too much to prove liability provided he doesn’t say you jammed on or something like that, unlikely that he’ll go down that road given that he’s uninsured though.

  127. Bohemian boy

Have to say there were no shortages of witnesses offering to help. They were telling me to go after the scumbag, but i think i done the right thing in staying put. Besides I’m very grateful to John Cullen another taxi driver who was close by and went after him for me. John was a great help and gave the gardai a statement

  128. ger

Mrs rat must have given you your phone for the day. Don’t hear a peep outta ya for months and all of a sudden you appear like the black plague. Or are you on leave from your full-time job in the UK?

  129. Ben

Get that impression, and just like Veruka, he is all about shirt lifters rights, gay marriage, more money for hiv testing etc. You can read into it.

  130. Bohemian boy

Yeah come to think of it you could be right. He certainly is all for this liberal crap that his party promote allowing queers to marry each other, in favour of abortion, bringing in as many welfare scammers as the ship will hold, defending Africans, etc etc all labour party crap

  131. Ben

Ya he is a totally weird fukker I think, don’t know how he got elected. But I do know he wont get re-elected, too fond of the sewer rats . And he would give them the last penny that this country might have.

  132. Bohemian boy

I see the trial of that young fella from Egypt has been put back again. I wish the news reports would stop referring to him as an irish teenager. he is not irish, he is just another one who’s family were granted citizenship very cheaply. The amount of resources being deployed by the irish government to secure his freedom is outrageous. Our own people are lying in doorways while state funding is being spent on a family with absolutely no allegiance to this country

  133. Ben

That’s typical of out dysfunctional politicians BB, everything is for the foreigners now. While people sleep in doorways, and hospital waiting times have become a total joke. Did ya see the figures this morning for the number of people waiting on trollies. Its a complete disgrace, that’s the end result of all the sewer rats getting medical cards. Veruka should be sacked.

  134. sclass

Fukkim ,he went over to Egypt to get involved in a Muslim brotherhood protest , And it backfired on him.
Our government was elected to govern Ireland and it’s Irish people,
And the massive shortage of housing, still thousands unemployed, shortage ofteachers .nurses, doctors,
The Irish government has no business sticking their noses in the middle east problems.we have enough of our own problems to solve at home.

  135. sclass

    Pat Kenny talking to farmers,
Burglaries of farms have reached epidemic proportions around the country, farm equipment worth millions is stolen from hard working farmers, because of the lack of garda patrols,
What has Francis Fitzgerald got to say about that.
She’s to fukking busy looking after refugees.

  136. bohemian boy

i hope you will let them know what you think of them when they come calling looking for your vote, especially that labour gang who are more concerned about foreigners then their own. i wrote to Francis Fitzgerald recently expressing my feelings about how easily citizenship is being handed out,and how sickening it is to see her government prioritising these imports ahead of our own. you would not believe the contents of the bullshit reply i got back. long live IDENTITY IRELAND,UKIP,THE FRENCH NATIONAL FRONT,and all others who look after their own first.im sick and tired of this argument the bleeding hearts brigade keep putting forward that the Irish traveled the world. this argument has been done to death now. there is no other argument they can make. it may be the case that the Irish traveled, but when they did, they traveled to work,to build, who was it built the UK,who was it built America, etc etc they did not go to scam the welfare system. it would suit the BHB better if they were to concentrate their efforts on all the poor fukkers who went to the UK years ago to work, and who are now broken men living a lonely existence in run down hostels instead of worrying about these fukking foreigners.this is where i want my tax payers money spent, not on some young fella from Egypt, who has not got the remotest interest,or knowledge of this country

  137. Ben

Our gov should ignore that dickhead, he knew the risk when he went there. Spend the few bob we have on services and houses for Irish people only. Tell the rest to fuk off. Health must be sorted rapid, winter coming and peak demand period. Hire more doctors and nurses, and open the wards that are closed. 71,500 people lay on trolleys so far this year, and some for several days and nights. The figure for last month alone was 7,600. This makes me angry. Foreign arrogant scum walk into hospitals and demand to be seen immediately. Otherwise they abuse the staff, and start shouting their racist bullshit.

  138. Ben

Foreign scammers hook up with Irish women, get married, and then they cannot be deported no matter what they do. The family rights bullshit will be ringing around the courtroom buy some hot shot barrister, who is being paid by the free legal aid. That’s our tax, by the way. Politicians should note that most of the foreign scammers who have got into Ireland don’t want to integrate. They have their own areas in Galway that are now becoming no go areas for Irish White people. I bet its the same all over the country .

  139. Bohemian boy

Well Ben i can promise you that none of these bastards will ever tell me where i can, and cannot go in my own country. I was just listening to Joe Duffy show. I had to turn it off. Ny blood was boiling listening to a poor irish woman who was denied a. Medical card for her seriously ill child. Yet that kunnt miss piggy Burton announced on the news a few weeks ago that when the foreigners arrive here soob. They will be greeted with medical cards, welfare benefits, and a host of other entitlements. God give me strength

  140. Ben

Irish people are being treated badly by this Gov, its time for them to go. Miss Piggy and O Queerdain cant wait for the syrians to get here, and hand them everything. But how do we know who these people are, just like the Nigerians who scammed their way in here.

  141. ger

That would be the first aid kit. It’s been well known that if your first aid kit is out of date you will fail. He should have bought an up to date one. Simple as that. It would have worked out cheaper than a retest. We all have to update them. Whats his problem?

  142. Bohemian boy

He hung the tester out to dry. Listen to the podcast. Joe said to him will you have to pay for a retest. Now.? No says your man the tester told him to go off and get a kit and get back ASAP

  143. ger

So the tester does this fella a good turn and the gobshite goes on the Joe f in Duffy show and hangs him. What a complete pri¢k.

  144. Ben

IS will slip in here with the Syrians and we will have major problems. Those first aid kits are a load of shite, we are not trained in first aid, and legally we cannot offer that type of assistance to anybody. We could be sued if we did something wrong.

  145. sclass

The driver was correct to go on the Joe scruffy show.
To show the dickheads in the NTA and the public how fukking ridiculous the suitability test is.
Now the driver has to pay for a retest.
How can a bandage go out of date rapped up in plastic.
What taxi driver in his right mind would attempt to put a bandage on anyone,
no way will I ever attempt applying any first aid.

  146. Bohemian boy

Sclass did you not read my last post. ? He hung the tester out to dry. When Duffy asked him would he now have to pay for a retest, your man replied no the tester told him to go off and buy a new kit and get back ASAP

  147. Red dennis

Just go into boots and pick up a few poxy bandages and plasters …. They’re as cheap as chips and you can see the date without having to buy a sealed kit .

  148. ger

The visual applys to the NCT Ben Not the suitability. I got nailed one year over an initial. Yes one fcuking letter. Had to pay 30 euro.

  149. C5

I think its 28 euro for a retest I’ve kinda forgotten, i failed anyway on one of the door stickers it got a bit ragged around the edges from been rubbed against briers and hedgerows, he said it ruins the appearance of the taxi, i said to him what about the taxis that are using hailo stickers to cover up broken bits of bumper and body work and there not even on straight and the shite that’s on the back doors is cheap and tacky, he didn’t answer me. when i went back a few days later the same fella went through the whole act again of taking a couple of photos asking for a printed receipt and checking the kit in the boot. A load of bollox.

  150. ger

Another post blasted in cyberspace. Anybody know where to get a decent insurance quote? LIBERTY just doubled my policy. No crashes and no claims. Gone from a grand to almost 2 grand.

  151. ger

The reason I’m paying more royston as I told the lady on the phone is that certain people are coming into this country who have never done a driving test in their lives and swapping their $10 driving licence they bought in a flea market for an Irish one and then crashing all over the fcuking place. And she didn’t dispute this. That’s the fcuking reason pal.

  152. ger

The end result of you and all the other happy clappy bleeding heart dogooder good for nothing gobshites. Ah sure let them all in,sure what harm can it do. Every taxi I see in a crash, and I see a lot is a non Irish national. There you go. Whats your reply to that?

  153. Ben

They are making more millions from the crash scam, total vermin they are. Our policies go mad because of them. They should all be made take a driving test, or maybe that would be racist. Why have we to pay for their bad driving, and fraud. Liberty are assholes to deal with now, Quinns would never have let a person with 4 policies walk away. They would haggle on price to hold a customer , as any business should.

  154. Bohemian boy

Apart from a driving test, they should be made take a knowledge test. How could these people have done a written Garda test based on their knowledge, when some of them cannot even speak English. We are then told they passed the test to. Be a driver. What kind of gibshites do the authorities think we are. ?

  155. Ben

We are total gobshites BB and the authorities know that. They can treat us like shit, hike our fees, change the regulations at a moments notice to suit themselves. They allow foreign vermin/welfare scammers in to the business, with no knowledge test, or background check. But any Irish driver wont get in so easy. Oh no, Irish applicants will have to pass their tests, or no licence.
Its no wonder theres so many passengers being attacked by these sewer rats, they are unsafe to drive taxis. But no Irish politician will tackle this issue, because they will be called racist. Usual bullshit.

  156. Bohemian boy

The only who comes close to defending the position of the Irish, is George hook, hookey calls it as he sees and he doesn’t care who’s vexed, or pleased

  157. Catherine Donohoe

Hi just wondering if anyone can help, my daughter left an iPhone 5 black in a red 7/8 seater taxi on Saturday night. They picked up the taxi from wrights venue and got dropped to Kingswood. Would really appreciate any help.

  158. Ben

And some drivers are honest, and will make an effort to return a phone to its owner. All it takes is a call to the last number or two, and you will get owners name very quickly, I have returned lots of them over the years.
But some drivers are scum, and would have it sold on next day. The sewer rats, for example.

  159. ger

It’s probably already in a flea market in you know where. The same one they buy their driving licence from and get the “all you need to know about the Irish welfare system” booklet.

  160. ger

Up in Donegal for a little break with Mrs Ger. Was just in a taxi with a nice Donegal man. Told me the imports are at the same Carry on up here, ie ripping people off. The usual suspects of course. He then told me about some indian guy who bought 10 plates up here a few years ago and transferred them ALL to Dublin. The NTA were a little slow in stopping the sale of plates me thinks. He also told me they were ran out of Derry. Not one of them in Derry. I always said the shit that happened in the republic would never be tolerated in the north. EVER.

  161. Ben

Ger the rats tried to bully their way into Derry, and a few other places in NI. But they were told where to go, and they went. Was doing a delivery in Gransha Park in Derry a few years back, and had a good chat with a local taxi driver about them. His face went purple with anger talking about them, and he could not understand how they get away with so much crap in the South. That’s probably a reflection on us as well as Doyles Quango and all the other dysfunctional assholes we have answered to. Taxi industry in the North is policed in a very efficient manner. The police, and the DVA, are brutal. You take a car on the road that’s not 100% in order, they will seize it. Suspect taxis are taken to the mot centre on the spot, and tested. Any major problems, car is seized, and driver is in court next day. Not like the sick system we have down here. You will not operate an illegal, uninsured , unlicenced car/taxi on the road in NI, or if you as a driver have not passed the ACCESS NI, don’t even think about it. Our system is a complete joke by comparison, that’s why we have the sewer rats.

  162. Ben

Denis O Briens Topaz quango just got permission to buy out Esso, great news for Irish motorists, and home owners looking to get kerosene at a keen price, to heat their homes. Something about this take over stinks, but it was approved by the Competition Consumer Protection Commission (CPPC ) . Which seems to make everything ok . No danger to the public, or price hikes etc. O Brien is in it for fun, not to make more millions. Wonder does he own this CPPC as well. Wonder who gave him the cheap loan to buy Esso, only 70mill.

  163. Sore

Taxi High Court case dismissed this morning:

The High Court has dismissed a challenge by three taxi-drivers who claimed the value of their taxi plates was wiped out when the sector was deregulated in 2000.
Alphonsus Muldoon and Vincent Malone sued the Minister for Environment and Local Government and Dublin City Council while Thomas Kelly sued the Minister and Ennis Town Council. Theirs were test cases for more than 1,100 similar claims by taxi drivers.
Mr Justice Michael Peart said the claims made by all three men must be dismissed. A large number of people were in court for his judgment.

  164. Ben

That decision will be appealed , ruling is flawed. It was also delivered in haste today, and two years late. Its all about money as far as our dysfunctional Government is concerned. They are not into fair play. A figure of 360million compo was mentioned on the news, don’t know how accurate that is, or where it came from. The way the business was deregulated was handled badly, but Gov will never admit that.

  165. Ben

Forgot to mention costs, if no appeal is lodged. Nov 15th case is back before the court, when costs will be decided. Gov had up to 17 barristers working on the case at times, that’s serious costs. Multi millions involved here. How could these guys meet such a legal bill, if the ruling goes against them.

  166. ger

Ben, I see they had a citizenship ceremony down in galway today. Did ya get any fares from it? 90,000 now since 2011. At least the taxpayer didn’t have to pay their train fares to Dublin and back. Great little country altogether.

  167. Ben

Ger I did all the trips free for our new brothers and sisters. I want them to feel welcome in their new country. We older taxi drivers need to be setting a good example.

  168. Ben

Yet another Uber driver has been jailed for rape of a female passenger. He got 10-12 years for his offence. DNA links him to 5 other sexual assaults between 2006 and 2010. And Uber claim that their drivers are vetted . BULLSHIT.

  169. Ben

And to remind us all how stupid and unskilled we are. Unlike him, with his lucrative UK nixer. Wonder if he pays a few pound tax to Osborne. Or would Rat be on the fiddle.

  170. Chester

The Turks are coming… The Turks are coming. Well if Angela Murkel has her way they will be here and all over Europe in the very near future, millions of them the gutless ruling government we have here wouldn’t have the balls to ask Merkul since when did she become the queen and ruler of the EU.

  171. Ben

Merkel has been the Queen of Ireland for many years, that’s a fact. Budgets etc are sent to her for approval before being presented to the Irish tax payers.
Hungary are brilliant, well done. Showing balls and courage to tell these scammers that they are now wanted. We need to do the same, we cannot afford to take in any more scammers, look what the Nigerians have cost us. And now we cant get the fukkers out.

  172. sclass

Angela Merkel has taken upon herself to promise Turkey easy membership into the EU in return for Turkey to stemming the flow of refugees into Europe.
Turkey has a population of 76 million of which 90% are Muslim.
What a fukking brilliant idea by Angela, just what we needed.

  173. ger

We are going to hell in a hand cart. This EU bull$hit is starting to turn into a fooking sick joke. Thats all we need is a couple million Turks over here with their backward religion. They can fook off and go to some other Muslim country, the UK for example. Be right at home in the UK.

  174. Ben

Time to say fuk off to the EU, they have bullied us for too long. Close the border, and keep the scammers out. Are we ready for thousands of syrians and turks

  175. ger

Ben, What border? From what I can make out anybody from anywhere can just come in here and stay. And in a couple of years they are Irish citizens. People from 140 different countries got citizenship in Dublin a couple of months ago.

  176. Ben

Ger I meant the border we used to have for keeping unwanted scum out. Those days are gone, and as you rightly say, its open house now. Anyone can come in making all sorts of welfare demands, that will be met. Wait till the next batch of Nigerian/Syrians arrive. Where will we put them.

  177. Bohemian boy

I sent in a post which is less than complimentary to the labour party, or German interference in the running of our country. Roy decided to put it on hold for whatever reason. The only word i used in it was the word crap

  178. ger

Sometimes for what ever reason you post something and it just doesn’t appear. Happens to me on occasion’s. I wouldn’t take it personal bboy. Royston is probably on one of his around Ireland trips that have made him the multimillionaire that he is. Either that or he’s locked in the box room for being a bold boy.

  179. Bohemian boy

I know Ger, but it was a fukking masterpiece. I worded it great. I was so proud of it. It said everything i ever wanted to say about my hatred for the liberal left. I’m so disappointed it didn’t make the headlines. Do ya know what i mean. ?

  180. ger

Another uber driver convicted of rape, this time in India. Who in their right mind would get into an uber taxi? No wonder their doing shite over here.

  181. Ben

I think he is on Lizzies payroll on the mo ok, he is too quiet , very strange. Uber should be banned worldwide, most dangerous taxi service ever existed. Even worse than the Nigerians, and they are scum.

  182. ger

Another one of our Nigerian friends up in court on a welfare fraud charge. 19 grand this time. And the funny part, he’s a fukin pastor!. Sunday world web site.

  183. Ben

Whats new with those scammers Ger, that’s why they can send 500 million of our money home every year. Wonder whats the chance of any of that money being recovered. And will pastor be deported.

  184. ger

He’s paying back a few quid a week 22euro. Wait for it, out of his dole money. You couldn’t fukin make it up. The whole system is a fukin joke.

  185. Bohemian boy

Unbelievable. My brother got a letter yesterday morning from the. HSE. The letter advised they were going to withdraw his doctor only card because he is 22 euro over the limit. Miss piggy announced on the 601 news 3 weeks ago that when the syrian imports arrive here they will be given full medical cards, welfare payments, and access to a wide range of other benefits. I was so incensed by this that i rang leinster house were a certain politician confirmed that these concessions apply to all asylum seekers, not just syruans my brother has paid taxes to this state for 48 years, and these kunnts have never set foot in this country. I see that auld bastard in the park now has said that the rest of his presidency will be devoted to migration. Thank God for countries like Hungary that’s all i can say

  186. sclass

What makes it so frustrating is that we can’t do anything about it,
Well I didn’t vote for that leprechaun in the park
That park should be closed, it’s a total waste of hard earned,

  187. Ben

Out of his dole money, totally priceless. If that was an Irish White person, they would be jailed. Micro Mickey is taking over from Noddy Robinson in the migration business. Thousands more coming, brace ourselves. I did not vote for that pint sized retard either, I know what he is really like. Two faced asshole. Wont be any syrians housed near his place over the westside of Galway. The circular road will be kept upmarket.

  188. Ben

They are being nasty over water charges , that prik Kelly wont admit defeat. Irish Water will be gone after next election, we have been hit with too many taxes. Kelly will be gone too I hope.

  189. bohemian boy

i hear ya Ben,but it still doesnt answer the question. they have made it clear that anyone who is self employed and needs a tax clearance cert will not be issued with one unless they are compliant with water charges.so how can we operate legally in those circumstances ?

  190. ger

Another one of our friends in court on a 14grand welfare fraud charge. She got a job but kept claiming. My question is,how many more of them are scamming the welfare?

  191. Ben

Ger the answer is about 99% of them, they came to Ireland because they heard we are a nation of muppets, and the welfare have millions to give away. Even if its borrowed money. Is that bitch being deported, or will she be rewarded with a bigger free house, and maybe a new car.

  192. ger

Deported? Not a chance. It’s on the “evening herald courts” can’t get the story to open so I don’t even know what the outcome was.

  193. Ben

Only Irish White people get really convicted for welfare fraud. Such as a criminal record or a jail sentence. Sewer rats will shout racism, usual shite with them.

  194. sclass

Why is the stolen money never retrieve,
    Crime definitely pays ,
Time after time thieves getting Mickey mouse sentences for stealing thousands, their out of prison after a short time to enjoy the stolen loot,

  195. Ben

And very often its the welfare that’s paying the rent. Landlords don’t care how many stay in the house, so long as the rent is paid. A lot of the polish scammers have gone back home, and they come here on cheap Ryanair flights to collect their dole/welfare.

  196. Bohemian boy

These prikks all want to be like the dubs, but when it comes to tipping They show their true colours. The dubs are the best tippers i ever met.

  197. Chester

Two right BB restaurant and bar staff often count out there fare from the tips they get from diners and drinkers but wouldn’t give drivers a cent for seeing them home safely at the end of their shift.
